Lockie is serviceable because he knows the system intimately and the players know and trust him. Unfortunately, the coachs have never played him in games with the starters nor have they unleashed him in his cleanup role. I think they screwed up. Adams passed his test(s) and has been working with the recvrs for a couple months. I have no idea which QB will be the primary or if one will play and then the other will play. We have Michigan State the second week.

Good catch. I think this is what we mean when we say irony.
Judging by how well he does on his academis, VA will have a hard time cramming the UO playbook in time for this season.
Don't kid yourself Buford. The Oregon playbook is relatively simple:
Assume the position.
7 times out of ten, hand ball to Running Back.
Watch Running Back run.
3 times out of ten, fake handing ball to Running Back.
Find Wide Open Receiver.
Throw to Wide Open Receiver.
Watch Wide Open Receiver catch.
Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

There's no way to give VA any muscle memory running the system. VA has to go in dry and make the correct reads. If I recall correctly, the QB makes decisions on the fly about where the ball should go.
It could work okay if he's natural at playing ratball. But if it was that easy, I feel like they could just plug in a random member from their logjam of speedy athletes at the QB position.

From the Eastern coach regarding VA's possibility (probability) of failing the test again and potentially returning to Cheney:
“It can’t be a revolving door,” EWU coach Beau Baldwin said on the first day of EWU practice. “We’ve kept a very good relationship and we have that mutual respect, but just like anyone, once you decide you’re moving on, … No one is bigger than the team, and he knows that,” Baldwin said.

I myself much prefer to go in dry and plug with my muscle. Balls are just along for the ride.
