Would you trade Petersen for Harbaugh?

No whoosh here. Just piling on a FS post about naming conventions of lakes and universities.PurpleJ said:You guys both got whooshed I think. It was a joke about our SCENIC location. Cue Pike Place fish throw and Nirvana to play us out.

Get back to me when you've figured out the relationship between the school names and the lake names... it is the kind of relationship you might see on an SAT test. And the Pacific Ocean is the thing that doesn't fit with the rest.HuskyInAZ said:

We aren't University of the Pacific, we are the University of Washington, so I think the relevance of the two bodies of water that share their names with their respective state schools, carries more weight. But why are we even on this tangent? He would never come to UW.HuskyInAZ said:

This is why Harbaugh at UW would be so great and why he did so well at Stanford. I think we need someone to change the entire culture than someone that fits. I like Petersen fine, but I have no doubt that last year's team would have been significantly tougher and more physical with Harbaugh.HFNY said:But the scenario has Harbaugh at UW, not Michigan. He didn't go to U-Dub, isn't idolized in Seattle, and would either go back to the NFL (or jump to Michigan).
In contrast, I think Petersen will retire from U-Dub and fits the program's culture well.FremontTroll said:
Harbaugh is idolized in Ann Arbor. Why on earth would he want to go back to the NFL where he got run out of town after making the NFC Championship 3 times in 4 years?HFNY said:I hear you and my hope is that Strausser's preference for bigger OL (vs what Tuff Guy Coz liked) will bring more smash. Same with multiple TEs since UW has Perkins, Daniels, and Ajamu to use.
Harbaugh brings the energy, sizzle, and name to a program now but Petersen is a better fit culturally and in terms of staying power. The last time UW had a coach longer than 6 seasons was Don James and I could see Harbaugh jumping ship to the NFL after 3 or 4 seasons while I see Petersen retiring from UW in 10-15 years.Dennis_DeYoung said:Harbaugh is football the right way. I love him deeply.
Pete is in the same tier though.
It is obvious he is having the time of his life right now. Look at the pictures of him competing shirtless at that satellite camp. You think this guy is itching to leave that?
Harbaugh is the next Saban. -
No
You really think Harbaugh desarkifies the team that much faster, turning them into a 4 tackle power run team in 9 months?RoadDawg55 said:

Yes. That's not to say we would have had a great offense, but it would have been a lot better than the Peterman/J Smith shit sandwich we got last year.GrundleStiltzkin said:

I didn't want jimmer fired from San Fran. He's annoying and I'd prefer not to have to go back through his personality as a coach, but he also was winning in San Fran. If the question was about who would you want at UW my answer is No because I think peterson can be just as successful as jimmer sans being the complete dickhead at every possible turn.FremontTroll said:

Yeah who wouldn't want to put on a faggy goof ball show in rural Alabama to woo high school kids after being in the super bowl 3 years ago. Sounds like a dream come true, quite honestly.FremontTroll said:

Harbaugh is living it up right now. He is a walking legend in Ann Arbor and IMO his competitive desires are more easily satisfied in college where he can do things like hold a satellite camp in the middle of Saban territory or take shots at Urban.
I would bet on him retiring at Michigan.
I could be dead wrong, it happens all the time. I just wouldn't sign up for him again over petereson. If we're talking jimmer vs Sark than obviously Harbahhh 100/100.

UW is named for the state in which it resides. Same is true for UM. It has nothing to do with lakes that boarder those states.
Now, more than ever, LEAVE !!!
