my recollection of the events was that Paterno did report the incident to the president, who did nada.

That's correct. If the chain of events surprise people, they're naive to how the world works with all the cover ups and buck passing.

Winning is equated with character and morality in our culture. James was revered for winning and was ascribed moral character traits because of that winning. UW liked to brag how they won the right way, a fucktarded bit of bullshit that they ended up taking too seriously when it turns out we won like anyone else by buying players and coddling them through school to keep them eligible.

As we used to say on the old podcast, win enough games and you can run naked through the streets.

I don't recall James being overtly moral, but it was no secret that he was a good Christian man, as the saying goes. I don't think anyone knows if he had any demons or skeletons.

It's all part of the myth. If you buy into the myth it is hard to break free of it. Half brains were formed under the banner of all we care about is winning. Fuck all that other nonsense

you don't think the Seattle Times would have found them around the year 2000?

The PSU cult has been well-documented. It's incredibly disturbing.

    This.

I'm normally not a big fan of the HAMMER! but I think that Pedo State should have had its foosball program nuked from space because of the institutional involvement that enabled Sandusky's abuses
Its easy for outsiders to say this, but that football program is all this community has, financially.

I just want to watch some good college football. Is that too much to fucking ask?

Thanks for raping kids Sandusky you jerk. Not only did you literally rape kids (not a good look, G) you also made it so I have to think about kid rape whenever I watch Penn State. All I want is to watch college football and not think about kids being raped in the shower.

I guess it was an impossible dream.

Fuck people who covered it up, think PSU is a victim or think it doesn't go on everywhere.

    Jesus. Fucking depressing.

I mentioned this in a thread a while ago but pretty much the only redeeming part about living in central PA is you get to fuck with these clueless and moronic Ped St fans. My favorite is telling drunk people that Sandusky fell on the sword for Paterno and that joepa was actually the one doing the molesting. Literally, I could tell these people I just fucked their wives and they'd be less upset. It's a good thing there's no 7-11 on Aurora in the UDistrict here. Buncha fucktards. But I will say PA produces a lot of fucking talent. There's no reason, sanctions not withstanding, that they should ever suck. But I guess I could say the same about UW as well and look how badly our leadership has fucked things up.

But why do most central Pennsylvanians love the Pope and think the Catholic Church doesn't have any responsibility for all those boys their Priests raped?

PA retards think JoePa was screwed and that Catholics didn't cover up institutional rape. It's like they're fucking stupid or something.
