You are right, I edited it to include Eason at Georgia.
I still think Eason will continue to choose the easiest path that's been set-up for awhile for him and that's sliding right into a nice situation at Georgia (unless Richt bombs and gets fired). -
Thinking that offense last year was "tailored" to anything is bullshit. It was a bullshit offense for a bullshit, noodle armed quarterback. They both sucked. J. Back to Eason for a moment, the Georgia depth chart is wide open for him but if Browning is as good as advertised, how many years would Eason have to sit behind him? Even aggressively projecting that Browning is the starter by mid-season, Browning would still have 3 more years to start. Does Eason come in as a true frosh and unseat true soph Browning after he started some games the year before? Most likely not. So Eason is 2nd string until he is a Senior?
If Browning ends up not having to play and he redshirts, that puts them closer in terms of eligibility while Eason could end up playing in the first game of his true frosh season like Eason did.
And I can't stand this whole Petersen wants an accurate QB that makes good decisions like he's the messiah of good decision making quarterbacks. Don't most coaches want a quarterback who is accurate and a good decision maker with athletic ability as a potential bonus? Not criticizing Petersen at all, just the primitive notion that this accurate, good-decision making philosophy is somehow unique to a select few coaches.
It's more about Petersen being able to effectively implement what he wants to do with a QB that is truly an accurate, good decision maker right? Since most top QBs out of high school, I'm assuming, look accurate and like good decision makers anyway.
We don't know that it's Browning. Browning hasn't done jack and hasn't been hit in a game. We won't know anything until that happens. A video of him standing in the pocket with a yellow jersey on making a nice throw doesn't do it for me, sorry.
If Eason is as good as people think (and as good as he seems to think) then he certainly wouldn't shy away from a program because of competition. If he doesn't like competition, he can go play at WSU. Has Eason twattered that he's a pampered little bitch or something?
The brown paper bag seems like a likely reason for the UGA decision to me. Who really cares.

As much as people want to hate on CP and JS' offense last year, they kept the offense mostly the same for QBs the previous regime recruited. If they had inherited Cody Pickett, do you think they would've been running the HUNH spread?
And yeah, it would be nice to have the perfect QB but they don't grow on trees so coaches have to prioritize certain attributes or skills over others when recruiting QBs...just like the NFL does at the next level. -
So many fucking stupid points regarding Eason. But we'll get Fink instead, Eason might be scared of Browning, easier path playing time at Georgia, Petersen wants smart, accurate QB's. People think Eason will just walk right in and be Georgia's QB? Maybe he will, and I have never seen any Georgia QB play, but their QB depth can't be worse than ours.

I've seen Lambert and he sucks, but he was a RS-Soph last year, so I don't see how he won't have 2 years at Georgia.
Now, as we have seen with UW's QB's, rankings can be FS. Miley and Lindquist were 4 star QB's and well thought of as prospects. I'm not seeing how the path to playing time is easier at Georgia, other than the fact they didn't take a QB last year.
Save the bullshit about Browning too. I hope Browning is the man, but Eason is bigger, has a stronger arm, has better offers, and is higher rated by the TBS experts. At this point, Browning is a good prospect and nothing more. As I showed, Georgia also has a few of those. -
The offense last year looked awfully similar to the dreck Boise State ran against UW in 2013. Obviously having Cody Pickett at QB would have been an upgrade, but I doubt they would have ran a pro style offense with him. Not very many teams do. The HUNH seems to be the default offense in college football. UW's didn't huddle, but they didn't hurry either. I honestly don't know what the fuck it was. To your second paragraph, @MakaDawg is right. Accuracy and decision making are coveted by almost every coach. What Petersen looks for in a QB isn't unique. -
I would agree with you that they need a better offensive identity. Why not go more towards Stanford's O with our TE's, Lenius, and physical RBs?

I'm not sure. I think most of us would like that to happen. I do question what we are doing on offense, but I also understand I could be rushing to judgment. Whenever I get depressed and angry about the offense last year I think of that... But then whenever I get optimistic about a team with a good OL and QB down the road I get worried about maybe having a shit offensive plan. Rock and a hard place.RoadDawg55 said:

I see a kid that got the opportunity to go play for a SEC school, a higher tier one at that, with at worst fringe national championship aspirations. At the same time, he's been gifted into a situation where he's likely to be handed the job without a ton of work. It's a great situation for him. Quite possibly a better one than going to UW.
At the end of the day, I'm sure Eason is nice. But all I really care about, all that I ever care about when it comes to recruiting, is that you recruit the best class possible that fits what it is that you are trying to do as a program. If Eason's not an option. Then get the next best option.
