Not to speak for Race, but that has to be a rhetorical question Honda. A shorter answer would come from asking what he wouldn't have done differently.
Seriously, do you really think Russia, Iran, ISIS, Israel, the Taliban, the Castro Brothers, et al, wouldn't have all been dealt with differently by Romney? The Keystone Pipeline, Obamacare, federal tax code, federal budgets, and a lot more would all look different today. I get that Romney is not cool, not a favorite of those who get their "hard news" on comedy central from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but the difference in competence between Romney, the executive, and Obama, the community organizer, is staggering.
Yeah I fully agree we'd be in several wars right now if Romney were elected. And the federal deficit would be greater cause taxes would have been reduced and we'd be funding wars.
Then we be back to "the deficit doesn't matter" type thinking, so Romney would have that going for him.
We've haven't had a president since Reagan that cared about the deficit. HTH
There is no way Jeb Bush is a realistic candidate. The Republicans are basically fucked, their candidates are either completely out of touch with and hated by voters or just insane. It's too bad, the Dem candidates are awful too. Politics has really become Marinerized.
The dems are like Bama. they get the default vote. People are aghast at how horrible the Republicans are then vote for Obama or HIllary. Romney with all of his faults was clearly a better choice in 2012. Now we have defenders of the economy saying that its great if you're on top. THIS economy is always great if you're on top. Obama ran against the 1% and they are the only folks to benefit from his fucked up lack of attention to detail. Blacks have fared worse under him but republicans are racist and Ferguson and shit you know so vote for the dem.
I started voting in 1980. Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton twice, Gore, Bush, Obama, Romney.
Carter and Obama are the only two that really fucked things up. Reagan, the Bushes and Clinton were at least competent. Hipster faggots and minorities need to stop defaulting to democrats and maybe they will start running good candidates again. Republicans are going to run managers that get ripped in the media and popular culture. They will never be cool but they will win rather easily in 2016, say 34-17.
It's not Obama's fault that you didn't develop a political creed until your late 50s. Failed idealists that vote Republican are the worst.
I've always been a realist and never been a failure. Obama is a failure. You seem confused.
A realist that voted for Mondale and Dukakis? Sounds reasonable.
They sound like idealists to you? Reagan was the big picture dreamer. Those guys were technocrats. Looking back I should have voted for Reagan because I loved the 80's
I'm not entirely dialed into 80s presidential candidates, but you vote for the administration not the candidate. Reagan may have been radical, but only in the sense that cutting your nose off to spite your face is radical.
"Using the intelligence capability that everybody embraced about weapons of mass destruction was not, turns out to not be accurate,” Jeb Bush said, being sure to note, accurately, that the intelligence estimate of Iraq’s WMD capabilities was shared by many other nation’s intelligence agencies.
He then added: "Not creating an environment of security after the successful taking out of Hussein was a mistake because Iraqis wanted security more than anything else.” This was ostensibly as much of a criticism of George W. Bush’s defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld, as it was of the former president himself. Rumsfeld has been faulted with not sending more troops to Iraq to deal with the post-invasion occupation.

The Carter Mondale crowd thought the Soviets were unbeatable and we would need to wear sweaters to keep warm because the oil was all gone. They had no faith in the people or the country and didn't inspire anyone.
The people have always been the key and always will be. The best politicians know how to reach them and lead them. Clinton knew how to do that as well. It takes more than a cool speech and an empty suit as we found out about Obama

Why don't you put the dollar figures in there?
Reagan's $1.86 trillion deficit through 8 years is still $1.5 trillion less than Obama's deficit through 6 years, even after you apply 3% compound interest (inflation) over 30 years into Reagan's numbers.

You are right, he clearly cared about increasing the deficit.
Also looking into the numbers, Reagan's debt plus inlfation is less than both Bush Jr. and Bush Sr., only Clinton was under Reagan's deficit margin, and much less. I actually liked Clinton as president, the only time I voted democrate on a presidential election was when he ran his 2nd term.

The duck is just trolling. He conveniently provided data that captured only a portion of Obama's first term and failed to show more pertinent data. Obama has added significantly to the debt since then. So far he's added over 7 trillion dollars of debt and the debt load is escalating at an ever increasing rate, jumping from 68% of GDP when he was elected to over 100% of GDP currently. A Keynesian's wet dream to be sure and a mess for someone else to clean up later. This is why children should not have access to the public's credit card.

Actually the deficit has decreased the last few years, and at a faster rate than any other time.
You say Obama has added $7 trillion. Don't you think a large portion of that was actually reduced revenues from the recession that has nothing to do with Obama? Obama has added to the debt, but his share is nothing close to $7 trillion.
