There is no way Jeb Bush is a realistic candidate. The Republicans are basically fucked, their candidates are either completely out of touch with and hated by voters or just insane. It's too bad, the Dem candidates are awful too. Politics has really become Marinerized.

The dems are like Bama. they get the default vote. People are aghast at how horrible the Republicans are then vote for Obama or HIllary. Romney with all of his faults was clearly a better choice in 2012. Now we have defenders of the economy saying that its great if you're on top. THIS economy is always great if you're on top. Obama ran against the 1% and they are the only folks to benefit from his fucked up lack of attention to detail. Blacks have fared worse under him but republicans are racist and Ferguson and shit you know so vote for the dem.

I started voting in 1980. Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton twice, Gore, Bush, Obama, Romney.

Carter and Obama are the only two that really fucked things up. Reagan, the Bushes and Clinton were at least competent. Hipster faggots and minorities need to stop defaulting to democrats and maybe they will start running good candidates again. Republicans are going to run managers that get ripped in the media and popular culture. They will never be cool but they will win rather easily in 2016, say 34-17.
It's not Obama's fault that you didn't develop a political creed until your late 50s. Failed idealists that vote Republican are the worst.
There was that one phrase at band camp ... oh yeah ...

    If you're 18 and don't vote democrat you don't have a heart, if you're 40 and don't vote republican you don't have a brain ....

Seems to me Uncle Race's voting record bears this wisdom out ... what's your excuse?

And I'm curious what you think Romney would have done differently the last 2 years.

My gut says that Rand Paul is in the Republican primary to the end ... he makes way too much sense when he speaks not to catch on once people start paying attention again.

He won't be right-enough to win ... which sucks ... LRR

Not to speak for Race, but that has to be a rhetorical question Honda. A shorter answer would come from asking what he wouldn't have done differently.

Seriously, do you really think Russia, Iran, ISIS, Israel, the Taliban, the Castro Brothers, et al, wouldn't have all been dealt with differently by Romney? The Keystone Pipeline, Obamacare, federal tax code, federal budgets, and a lot more would all look different today. I get that Romney is not cool, not a favorite of those who get their "hard news" on comedy central from Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but the difference in competence between Romney, the executive, and Obama, the community organizer, is staggering.

It is easy to say this now, easy for Romney to say things he would have done from the arm chair.
I will certainly give you obamacare, he would have at least done single payer....obamacare was romneycare before it was obamacare. Though, I am certain he would have not launched the program country wide through the fed.

Come on, Stewart and Colbert cater to just over a million people. They might have some influence in the rich circles of LA, Boston, Seattle and New York. The only time where I thought a presidential nominee was cool was Bill Clinton playing the sax on the Arsenio Hall show.

I will admit Obama's speech in 2004 impressed me. Now, he does nothing of what he spoke about in that speech. Like 98% of them empty promises and fancy phrases to be played in under 30 seconds on shitty news programs.

Easy to say Romney would have been better being that the bar is so low.

What hurt Romney was the clip showing he didn't care about most of America but what politician does? That clip got hammered over and over again. Also being Mormon hurt. Anyone who believes in planet Kolob probably shouldn't be President.

Rand will not appeal enough to the American public as whole which is unfortunate.

Yeah I fully agree we'd be in several wars right now if Romney were elected. And the federal deficit would be greater cause taxes would have been reduced and we'd be funding wars.

Then we be back to "the deficit doesn't matter" type thinking, so Romney would have that going for him.
