A Duck Perspective re Buddeh Baker and Potatopotahto'e

If Sark was still at UW both of these guys would be wearing the green and yellow (and carbon and grey and black and pink).

Each was the best Washington state player of their given year - getting those kind of guys makes a big, big difference.

I don't think Oregon needs to get the best Washington guys, but it certainly is a cherry on top when we do. But I think that UW needs to get the best Washington guys.

While I think that UO would have been better for Baker in terms of player development and pro potential (I think John Neal is one of the best DB coaches around, also if Baker were serious about T&F, well, UO T&F >>>>>>> UW T&F), I think Potetao'e will do really well at UW and it is a better fit for him.

Nothing here is intended as back-handed snark - Peterman is doing the in-state recruiting thing right and you have to give him full credit for it.

Don't be a doog. Baker was already a solid UO commit when Pete flipped him. I think Potato'e would have gone our way as well

It's funny that you're telling me "not to be a doog" but you're the one who is completely rewriting history. Baker decomitted from UO because he couldn't see himself living in Eugene for 4 years. Those were his own words. After that, he was no longer considering UO and narrowed his choices to UCLA and UW. Though most believed he would ultimately choose UW, there were some analysts who picked him to go to UCLA. So Baker's final 2 were UW and UCLA and those were the only schools he was considering.

Potatoe has been a UCLA lean for the last month until visiting UW last weekend. Helfrich tried to get in late but Potatoe said no thanks.

Well, what I know about Baker was that he was too nice to come out and say he wouldn't commit to Sark... and the UCLA talk at the end was a smokescreen. He de-committed from UO and silent verballed to UW the same day. Potato'e was not as high on our board supposedly, but based on what I've read I think that if Sark was still at UW he would be more likely to go to UO than UCLA.

This is all TBS rumor garbage but that's what the TBS stalkers tell me (not Ektard)

    That was a compliment?

    My mother in law approves.

(Baker would be a Bruin if not a Dawg. Sorry.) ;)

Potato isn't very high on your board, but you're trying to sign "Empterman" Sterk and Fotu "2A Killa" Leiato with one week before signing day?

Potatoe = lineman. We already got dudes there. I'm sure we'd like him, but we're scrambling for LBs.

Peterman has higher and more draft picks than Oregon ...

I think Baker will do just fine.

Damn, I generate more butthurt when I'm trying to compliment your team.

Butta is going to be just fine at UW, agreed.

    But 29 > 11

It's not butt hurt, it is fact.

Peterman has more 1st and 2nd round draft picks than Oregon during his time as head coach.

Baker will be fine ... if Peterman is who we thought he was.

I actually agree with AZ here - no Peterson opens a spot in the final two for both IMO and I see Ducks closing better than fUcla

This reminds me of when mike billotti said that oregon would've gotten Jake Locker if they had a baseball team. Yah, right.

Quacks are infamous for claiming a "close second" in a recruiting race.
