Yeah Race I thought the same. But do you
    really believe Washington would respond
if Oregon wins it all? I have serious doubts.
I just don't think the institutional will is there.
I don't think the culture is there. Which I guess
makes it all mute whether Oregon wins or not.

I don't think it will really make a difference if Oregon wins a title or not.

Because the last two years Oregon didn't win the pax 12 we really closed the gap.
    Fuck that shit

I knew this would be perceived as a doogish
response but I am 180 degrees from doogville.
I don't really care if the comment came from Softy
or the biggest anti-doog on here. The point remains
the same. For the Huskies to eventually become
championship caliber they are going to have to go
through Oregon. If we assume that happens by the
Huskies getting infinitely better while Oregon remains
the same, that is the ultimate in wishful thinking.
Every win for this program is critical at this point,
but I'd gladly give one up if it brought them back closer to
the pack. Yes, ultimately you want to catch up to
Oregon and beat their ass, but them fukking up just
    makes that task easier.

Really? 1991 only made Oregon more determined. I don't want Oregon to win but it would cause a shit storm that might get UW off their ass
Kinda like losing 11 straight by 20+ would?
We kept one game to 17, thank you very much. Sark had to do unspeakable things to Chip post-game to get that close.
    Ring sting?

    From an Oregon fan perspective:

Your theory has a smidgen of truth to it, if you were 2nd best. Even if Oregon falls, UW will still have to pass Stanford, USC, UCLA, ASU, and Arizona.

Race is right when he talks about UW possibly changing if Oregon wins out. The major driving force for Oregon getting their baseball program back, was watching OSU win back to back titles. If it wasn't for OSU's success Oregon would still have a mid level wrestling program (75k). If Oregon wins the title and UW still doesn't wake up and improve, then your problems are much bigger than just Oregon. It might seem weird, but Oregon winning it all, might actually be better for your program, by forcing the administration to actually support the program.

I laughed, then I cried. I think I need some whiskey. They have many chances to support the program. Oregon smoking it all now probably won't change their attitude that much.

If true, then Softy's statement is full blown doog by definition. Also if true, then you'll eventually need to pick a new team. Screw that loyalty garbage. If my team doesn't show loyalty to me as a fan, by at least trying to keep with the pack, then I'll support a new team that will. That's why I waved bye bye to the Mariners a while ago. My Angels at least try to build a team that wins championships.
