And I wish Jude would've asked Pete K. why he called the D he did on 3rd and 8 on Oregon's 2nd drive. From the 25 yard-line to the 45 yard-line in, Oregon treats that area as 4 down territory. Even my mail-order bride knows that.
I'm sure ASU will give try that at least once in the game.
And what I saw jived exactly what a few people who have seen him a lot more since he entered the program. Nobody was saying the same things about Lindquist and definitely not Paus.
I wouldn't mind Williams starting, but that's only because Miles has been mostly bad. I don't think he can be much worse, and the thought of the offense getting a spark is enticing. I don't give a fuck who starts at QB as long as we win.
The part that is annoying are posters saying Williams really showed something in that series. It was one fucking series, in a game that was already over. Jeff Lindquist started the game well against Hawaii and played a good half. If Miles was hurt after his first two series against Oregon, everyone would have thought it was a bummer and that he looked like an improved QB the past two weeks. Casey Paus had a great first showing against Oregon. Until we see Williams in extended action in a real game, not garbage time, or a Spring Game to say he's showed something.
Don't entirely disagree, but Williams looked like a competitor who wanted to play. That's the most important thing he showed, not yardage or completions.
