As I go to sleep tonight I'm comforted by the fact Oregon is a place only meant to be seen out an airplane window. That is your original sin plungerings or (soon to be) not. Good night.

If everyone still read more than a paragraph or so, I'd make a compendium of these doogisms.

I would only read it if Tequilla writes a 100 page preface.

Peterman doesn't any longer have the luxury of preparing all off season for one opponent and then hang around to knock off Nevada or Fresno in Real Game #2.

Me carried away? I put it to you that too many UW fans have gotten carried away with the "CP is now the best coach in the Pac" bullshit. He was the best coach in the FUCKING WAC and WAC 2.0. Boasting about hiring the tallest midget to compete in a big boy league is just open microphone comedy night fodder until proven otherwise.

"We made it too easy for them."

Who is that on, and at what price again?

Please to be telling us which other coach(es) in the P12 have won the Paul Bear Bryant National Coach of the Year twice. Or once even.

Kindly light the plunger on fire before you pull out your pink sock. TIA
Fawning over that type of crap got your program to where you are today. Sportswriters vote for that irrelevant shit. It is indicative of exactly nothing. Rich Brooks won it once and no one gives a damn.
Markkkus Mazaratti and quooks everywhere think orange slices are greater than Heisman trophies.
Marcus doesn't give two shits about individual awards in a team sport, especially a media awarded one. It's a facet of his personality that makes him a great football player in this narcissistic age of "FY FM FE."

    Love the guy.

But you don't get boat raced - by the exact same scheme - after working on a game plan for a week. His predecessor left him some holes, but it's his job to fix them and fix them fast.

I have no criticism for Oregon any longer. 11 in a row isn't a fluke or cheating. They have been decisively better in EVERY one of those games .

The only question is what happens the rest of this season and next. Thats the time he has to get it done as far as I'm concerned.

    This is so fucking irritating.

Sorry, but you're a doog if you ever thought it was about cheating. They're better than us because they figured out how to be a good team and stuck to it. Only doogs hate on Oregon.
That's bullshit. I've always hated Oregon. Hated them when we beat them like a drum and hate them now that they are beating us like a drum.

I never thought it was about cheating, either.

Why the fuck wouldn't you hate on Oregon?

Homer fans like you are the reason Oregon enjoys rubbing your face in it. It's part of the reason why Oregon wore the Kenny Wheaton jerseys. When your doog tears flow they taste that much sweeter. If you drop the irrational hate you become just another PAC 12 opponent. Doogs relished when Oregon was a shitty team and they were on top. Now that the tables are turned, they get decades of their arrogance heaped back upon them. Only now they're called duckades.
    The reality is ...

All Oregon has is their hate for Washington.

You've won 11 in a row by big margins ...

Yet you continue to look in your rear view mirror.

You should stick to doogman.com and keep running your academic smack.

The Ducks have been in the AP top 15 for over four years continuously as I write this. Rearview mirror my pasty white ass.

The sad and inconvenient truth for you is that for better or worse, the AD in Eugene chose to take one iconic play from Oct. 22, 1994 and turn it into some sort of creation myth. The Pick has become folklore at Oregon and humiliating Washington whenever possible is the proverbial sacrificial blood demanded by the football gods to prop that mythos up. We play the coogs and beavers tight year after year and throttle your program, explain it through a context other than blood lust.

Though this effort to annihilate UW football got off to an uneven start under the unevenly motivating Bellotti, Chip really got it even as he poor mouthed the rivalry in the press. Slingblade grew up an Oregon fan, so he really gets it, and that's why Mariota and Freeman were out there finishing off the game.

You can dust off your voted upon trophy, you could tape the USN&WR college ratings to it and put it on the sidelines every UW-UO tilt, it doesn't fucking matter. The mythology built around this game from the Oregon perspective demands your abject humiliation.

Until your program gets its dick out of the dirt, and quits futzing around with "the process" and coach speak, and just embraces the hate to a depth in every player's soul where they'd rather die than to lose to Oregon, you're nowhere.
    Point.in.fact.

An idiot took one football play and convinced a bunch of inbreeds that they are the college version of the Dallas Cowboys.

To this day, said inbreeds still believe it.

We HAVE a trophy to dust off.

    You do not.

"Don't want to suck" ain't got nuthin to do with it.

Here's the thing. A veteran coach getting paid top drawer money doesn't get to do a reboot. He's gotta be competitive out of the gate.

Slingblade is following a legend, he gets 1.8 million per to figure out how to fill those wide shoes to even 85% or door, ass, out, with a cheap parachute.

Peterman is the supposed legendary coach following the mediocrity posted by the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. Perterman is supposed to be one of these Chip Kelly caliber guys who should by able to take a shitstorm of a QB, find out the one thing or two he can actually do, and exploit the shit out of it over and over.

Chip got Spicoli to smoke his reefer at The Tournament of Roses Confab. He made this shithead look fucking brilliant against Pete Carroll on Halloween Night 2009. He followed that up by taking a guy that rivals Miley Cyrus for bad wind ups, in his first year as starter, and got him to play the closest game played against the SEC champ during the BCS era.

Are you telling me that for Chip Kelly type scratch peterman can't wring/conjure/threaten with permanent benching, a fucking decent offensive season out of ANY of Sark's short bus types?

At $3.5 million per there should be no honeymoon for someone who supposedly hits the ground running.

The OKG/Sark Stench mantras are rationalizations for expensive failures in coaching and tactical decisions already seen.

Kelly was a guy that could beat your players with his more often than not, and at the final gun you also knew that he could probably take your players and beat his own just to show you up.

Pete doesn't seem to be that high of caliber if he truly "needs time" or his "own guys" to be competitive for about twice what Slingblade makes.

You make some very good points and I completely agree about great coaches being able to make chicken salad out of chicken shit. However, not every job is the same. Stoops and Saban struggled in their first years at Oklahoma and Alabama. I don't want to go nuclear about this season, only to see Petersen kill it in year 2 and 3.

I won't make excuses for Petersen. We have looked like shit far too often this season. Other than Cal and Illinois, we have played mediocre or poorly. I expected us to be better than what we have shown.

I'll let the season play out. 10 wins was the goal at the beginning. This board is bi-polar and thinks we have no chance after last week. If we win this week against ASU, the board will think it's almost a sure thing. I've seen some good things out of Petersen, and I've seen some things that are somewhat concerning. I actually have faith he will get it figured out, and it won't take 5 years. Nothing is a guarantee though.
I agree that this board is really week to week. Despite everyone predicting a plunger I believe I saw we're barely an underdog in this upcoming ASU game.
9 wins is still very much possible, one game against By far the class of the conference doesn't change that,
If we don't get to 9 win at least in the reg season I will not be making excuses for Petersen, I have always believed lowering expectations during the season is dumb barring some massive injury, something this team hasn't had to endure.
