One of the worst calls I have ever seen in my life. The fact that the replay officials confirmed that is BULLSHIT. FUCK
The real bullshit in my mind was that had the play resulted in an unchallenged turnover, no ejection would have occurred. Initially it was waved declined and ruled a fumble recovered by the Cal defense. IIRC Pete then challenged, it was overruled and the targeting penalty was then enforced.
The game announcers seemed very certain that the league could overturn a bad call like that.
Guess they were wrong. I haven't watched it over and over in slow mo or anything, but it looked like a really bad call -- can't believe that we have no recourse given that it would affect the duck game.
I dislike, no, I despise, the hypocrisy and the inconsistency. This goes beyond cheering for my team. Every team in the league is affected.
Same. I hate seeing bullshit calls in general. I was pissed when USC got called for a bullshit PI on an uncatchable ball. The roughing the kicker call on Utah was another disgrace. There are a couple every week. The Pac 12 seems to have the worst refs compared to other leagues. It's not even close.
Replay in the PAC12 has proven to be Pat Haden_FS because they still get the call wrong upon further review. It's almost as if they don't want to overturn the call in order to try and save face from the original horrible call. It's a fucking shame because it takes a lot of enjoyment out of the game when you're holding your breath everytime a play is over, wondering if there was a flag thrown somewhere or if there will be a flag thrown 30+ sec after the fucking play is dead. Everyone involved suffers due to their complete and utter incompetency and it goes beyond simple human error. It's negligent.
