SIMPLE QUESTION

Some here remind me a lot of the doogs in 2011 when UW was 5-1 with a loss to Nebraska. The writing was on the wall, but some wanted to just be happy with 5-1 and claim that Nebraska was unbeatable no matter what so it was OK. But there was a pattern, the HHB's saw it and were mocked for pointing it out. UW beat the weakest pac-12 teams and was rolled by the upper tier teams.

Same thing is happening now, except some here are clinging to nothing but hope in the face of very telling statistics.

And stop with the 10 win bullshit. That proves nothing with the shitty preseason and a 13 game schedule. HHs measure success or failure in conference. We can't change the rules for Petersen.

    It's sort of like golf...

Like the Nike RZN golf ball commercials about making the holes bigger. The 13 game schedule was contrived to get Sark to 10 wins. It seems only HHs demand higher performance in conference.

    Thanks for those tidbits.

Jonathan Smith was the OC at Montana for two years and Brent Pease was the OC at BSU for 2011 and UF for 2012 and 2013. Petersen himself was a well-regarded OC so it's not like there aren't coaches on the staff who have never called plays.

Does anyone know what "offensive genius" Sarkisian's teams averaged vs. Stanford in his 5 games against them? 16 points.

I was disappointed with the blitz pick-ups but they weren't horrid. Strausser gets them for two more weeks and Riva can't come back soon enough.

It's not hard to believe the O will look a lot better against Kal but will we get good enough / consistent QB play down the road to beat UCLA at home? ASU at home? @ Arizona? That's why we all tune in.

    defense looks better.

Peterson said the offensive playbook is too big, lending to poor execution. Will be dialed back

Peterson said coaching needs to be looked at in depth...IE Jonathan Smith

I don't think Utah is a tap in.

More like a 3 footer with some slope.

And WSU may require a chip in from the green due to snow.

Are we better today than when Sark took over for Willingham? No and that's Sark's fault. Peter is doing the best he can.

One could argue that Petersen has a tougher job replacing Sark than Sark did replacing willingham.
Replacing 9-4 > 0-12. Bare cupboards and banged waitresses notwithstanding.

Are we better today then we were to start the year?

I think it would be hard to answer that "no".

If Peterman can get the team to improve week to week, I think the rest will take care of itself.

Will we win 10 this year? WTFK

But we haven't had a coach since DJ that actually improved the team week to week during the season.

On a side note, coaches FU by trying to get Miles to stay in the pocket. They should worry about that once he's good enough to operate from the pocket. Until then, let him be Kraperpick.

The season just started two days ago.

How the fuck am I supposed to answer this question?

We won't know until we play Oregon, UCLA, and the serious Arizona schools. Those teams have the offense we couldn't stop the last five years.

We have to make the tap ins against Cal, Colorado, Utah and WSU. The season hinges on the top four games. We will know if we are better

If UW can win the tap ins and one or two of the UO, UCLA, and Arizona teams, I think that would be an extraordinary coaching job by Petersen and would bode well for the future. He has a lot of work to do. Based on the the first 5 games, I don't think WSU is a tap in.
When did Auburndoog hack your account?

    Lowered expectations.

Can't we just enjoy next year's scrimmages already?

I'm not following...why are we chipping from the green? Because there's snow on the green?

So the defense that got torched over and over by Eastern and the defense you saw Saturday were indistinguishable?

    OK

    OK

What is this Eastern you are referencing?
