The players on offense are horrific. I just don't see how Smith can fix it with playcalling

You hit them hard and you run.

You hit them hard and you run.

You hit them hard and you run.

Even if you go 3 and out, you start to wear down the other team.
It's not 19tickety2 anymore. 3 yards and a cloud of dust doesn't work. If you think you're going to wear out these guys, that play no huddle teams all year long with 3 and outs, you are mistaken.
I think his point was that you need to run the ball more. Less incomplete on 1st and 10. Everyone and their two dads knew that UW was going to run on 2nd and 10. Get 3 yards on 1st, 3 yards on 2nd, and you're looking at a lot more manageable of a 3rd down than 3rd and fucking 9.

So in the scenario you prefer we magically get 3 yards a carry but in the one you don't like it's magically 3rd and 9.

I agree with RoadDawg that we probably threw to much on 1st down. But here's the thing you dopes don't realize. If you run on first and second down every time the other team will realize it and play to it. Those 3 yard gains are going to turn into 0 yard gains if you're predictable.

If you have a great offensive line you can run as much as you want. When don't you can't be predictable.
Running gets easier the more you do it, because it wears out the other team and your runners find the stride and tempo that works on that team.

You can still pass to avoid being predictable, but passing as much as we did on 1st down is fucking stupid with this QB.
You what else makes running easier? Passing.
That's the same thing Sark's defenders use to claim.

    the fuck u talking about?

we have amazing skill players, good RBs, experienced OL, quick QBs that can run

    Smith is the issue.

And even if what you say is true, Smith is still the issue because he has been coaching them the past 6 months

True. It would probably help if they were coached up to execute the called plays.

That's why Washington looks good on defense against Stanford and have a win against Shaw. And why we thought UW should win today despite being outmanned
I'd take Standford's every team in America's style of play, over the UW's over the last 10 years.
    Great low bar as always
Didn't realize winning Rose Bowls, Pac 10 championships, and BCS bowls was a low bar.
You were losing Washington as the bar. HTH

Buddy Teevens and I enjoyed your post though

So you're admitting that you know less about football than Sark defenders?

Actually, I was using Stanford, and other teams that know how to run. Way to keep up.

You said you would take Stanford over UW over the last ten years, the worst ten years in the history of Husky football. I said we'd take anyone. Hence UW was the measuring stick

Did you attend Stanford on a special needs schollie?

Where did I read recently that winners run the ball, but running teams don't necessarily win.

It was also Stanford's best 10 years in this history of their team. Running the fucking ball.
