Perspective from watching all the bowel/playoff games...
Take this with a grain of salt as I've been battling the "Superflu" my son brought down over Christmas to my vacation home in Arizona which has seriously cramped my golf frequency so I'm likely hallucinating and also grumpy. Mrs. Doogerson also has it. It transmits in 1 day. Serious bullshit flu. Anyway - some observations:
The Ole Miss win over Georgia was unreal. What a game.
1) Most college QBs are flawed and not very good. Demond is certainly well above average and better than a lot of the QBs I've watched the past few days.
2) Even the best coaches seem to make boneheaded decisions, frequently. Except Cignetti. That dude is solid. Indiana wins the whole thing.
3) UW is not far from a playoff team. I expect them to make the playoffs next year.
4) How the F did WSU almost beat Ole Miss on the road?
Props to both ASU and Duke for playing a meaningless bowl game and seeming to care. Props to Miami for knocking off tOSU. That was actually enjoyable. I know we're supposed to root for the b10, but I like the underdog.

UW not far off?
The line play by these top teams is so far beyond what UW puts on the field. We? are not close. UW could beat the G5 teams and that's about it. Indiana would beat UW by 40.

I agree - our line play is way off from the top teams. I didn't say we were Indiana. I said we should make the playoffs.

Demond needs to be clutch and not throw picks like @ Michigan

UW is a top 20 program under Hirsch. Not far off from making the playoff isn't a fiery hot take, especially if it expands. Advanced stats had the Huskies on par with Texas for weeks and weeks.

UW played almost a month ago.
Good indication of where it measures up.
But I hear Fisch is a great molder of men.

We could play most of these teams close right now. We aren’t that far away.
-
Our OL could use some depth, DL needs a portal or two, one corner and poof. Judd needs to not be Grubb and throw the ball 81% of tim. RTDB
Playoffs or tarmac next season -
Sayin Simpson and Demond all got rattled this year by pressure
That part of the game hasn't changed. Starts up front
And you need to run the ball enough
The balance of Indiana is remarkable. They just do everything right.

Demond would be running for his life and throwing interceptions.
UW has zero pass rush. I'm watching Indiana, Oregon, Texas Tech, Miami, etc all get to the passer without sell-out blitzes.
I don't think all these top teams would name their score against UW, but UW would struggle to score (as they did against tOSU, Oregon, etc this year).
The offense is looking like a train wreck next season without some portal help or true freshman coming out of nowhere.

UW is going to be playing catchup in terms of moving up the rankings to get into playoff conversation. Probably will start outside the top-25 and, with what appears to be a fairly light schedule, it will be a slow move up the rankings - assuming they are winning. If the playoff expands to 16, and reduces the G5 bids down to one, as is predicted, I think it's 25/75 on getting in. I really am not feeling good about the offense heading into next year without some major portal additions.
