    Dems in action…

now that USAID is gone, expect more of these direct grifting from citizens to fund Dem NGOs and political campaigns.

I would gladly take their property off of them. Are you kidding? That’s gonna be worth a fortune.

Just curious what did the liberals do to them that conservatives wouldn’t. There’s plenty to say about the conservative response to the floods in Texas.

Update on what anyone with a brain (this excludes @HHusky) knew would happen when the Dems were lying about cutting red tape. This thread is hilarious to see how wrong the TugTards are, always.

Horrible people, all of you ShitLibs.

Whoops. The only reason I know it wasn’t Ernie who set the blazes is because it’s not the same name.

This is true tyrannical rule. The real left/democrat face. They bold faced lied to their constituents and could give two shits on whether they have a home to live in or not.

This is the cold hearted, filled with hate democrat party at work. They will fuck even their own people over in the pursuit of their power. I will be interested to follow the money and find out which liberal democrats are going to get rich off of forcing people to sell their property.

    This story is outrageous.

The LA Fires Destroyed 11,000 Homes. Less Than 10% Have Permits to Rebuild

Of the thousands of residents needing to rebuild after this year’s California wildfires, Andy Weyman would seem especially well positioned. The TV and stage director had remodeled his Malibu home just five years earlier and had city-approved blueprints in hand, with the same architect set to oversee reconstruction.

Yet eight months after the Palisades Fire destroyed almost 600 Malibu houses, the city has issued only two rebuilding permits. Weyman needed geological tests to ensure the stability of his bluff-top lot. Construction costs are roughly double his insurance coverage. In August, his architect died.

Of course you would take their property from them you asshat. Its what democrats do. They cause/allow disaster to happen, fake their concern, then torture their own constituents who have generously given them consistent votes and money over the past 40 years of democrat control of the state. It has been 9 months. Less than 10% of permits have been approved. Those permits are just the approval of the engineering drawings. Now the inspections start and some of those are going to take years to get done.

There is zero construction happening in Malibu. Now why in the fuck do you think that is buck?

Where do you think 7,000 families are living while the democrats in charge try to starve them out of their property by not letting them re-build? Do you think their living arrangements are ideal? Think they are happy not being able to build?

To add insult to injury, those who still own their burned out property owe property taxes that reflect still having their home on the property. There is some relief but you have to file the paperwork and you will not be getting any confirmation on your relief for about 12 months. Rumor is that this relief will only amount to a 10% decrease. So if your property taxes were say $17,000 a year in PP prior to the fire, you are still expected to pay that amount until you get a small decrease a year later. Newsome has frozen any increases until 2026 but you can bet that they will increase taxes on burn pits in an effort to force more people to sell once that freeze is off.

Oh yeah, if you sell your property now, you still have to pay CA transfer taxes at a rate that reflects having a home still on the property.

My two friends who lost their homes have given up. By their calculations, it will take 6 years to rebuild in the Palisades. They have been told initial engineering permits are 18 months away and that is from last week which is already 9 months past the fire. It took 8 months for one of my friends to get their soil contamination test results.

But hey buck, I encourage you to go spend a couple million on a few pieces of burned out property. Sitting on non-income generating burn pits for 6 years while paying exceedingly high property taxes sounds like a brilliant plan. Waiting 18 months for the plumbing inspector to find time to approve that stage of construction can be fun!
