released on this day in 1983.

Yes as my parents went through a horrible divorce I started acting up, like shoplifting like an idiot
-
Did you laff like an idiot hyena once you got to the parking lot?
I should do a youth shop lifting poll. I'm at zero.
-
No, I wasn't laughing or anything like that. Just acting like an idiot

Never realized there was a faggot on the cover

Hated this album as a kid. The album alone made me hate it as a 12yo. But now it is one of my favorite KISS albums.

Did you know fascism had the same Latin root?
Disclaimer: I'm not calling anyone a fascist here.
Fasces
(/ˈfæsiːz/ FASS-eez, Latin: [ˈfaskeːs]; a plurale tantum, from the Latin word fascis, meaning 'bundle'; Italian:
fascio littorio
) is a bound bundle of wooden rods, often but not always including an axe (occasionally two axes) with its blade emerging. The fasces is an Italian symbol that had its origin in the Etruscan civilization and was passed on to ancient Rome, where it symbolized a Roman king's power to punish his subjects,
and later, a magistrate's power and jurisdiction. The axe has its own separate and older origin. Initially associated with the labrys (Ancient Greek: λάβρυς,
lábrys; Latin:
bipennis
),
the double-bitted axe originally from Crete, is one of the oldest symbols of Greek civilization.

While I am not a big fan of prog, I would download/burn almost anything to have almost every album from bands/artists. Genesis is one of those bands.

I remember when they played The Fly on KNDD 107.7 The End for the first time. I think it was the DJ from 10-2, Bill Reed. He used to be on KJET AM 1590. And I said this isn’t The Joshua Tree. Kind of like hearing Paul’s Boutique after License to Ill.

Another “this wasn’t as good as the last album”. The last of the three albums Mutt Lange produced. Still way better than the slop they put out in the 80’s
-
I have a nice clean OG pressing, but I can't post here since I only listen to side A and that's it.

RIP Scott, the Scotsman. Cobain has a challenger for most tragic suicide.
One of my fave albums of the 2000s. -
Shout out to @MikeSeaver ’e Wheaton anniversary post.

I guess I never read the liner notes on this one. Surprised most of it was recorded in Germany. I also looked up the set list of when it was filmed in June of 1983. If they could, they should release a full album like Cheap Trick did with the Budokan concerts.

Unpopular take: The Beatle's are overrated. Not good.
-
It's not that unpopular of a take.
They might make the Throbber's Top 10 Brit bands. Maybe.
-
The Rolling Stones are my favorite all time recording artists. And I own pretty much every LP released by the various UK classic rock acts.
I understand people getting burned out on Beatles overplay, no doubt, but to say they were "overrated" is madness.
-
I used to think they were overrated but realize they’re simply over played. Yella has been a good teacher in the subject of the history of music.
-
I think it's really important to get the labels, right.
"Overplayed" - For example, I love Led Zeppelin, but they overplayed when I was in college and I got burned out for a while. There's no question that The Beatles have been overplayed for 60 years now, but that doesn't diminish their achievements.
"Overrated" - The most overrated rock groups IMO are bands like Kiss, Green Day, Guns and Roses, etc. There's never been a rock group in history which can touch the Beatles for artistic growth over a brief period of 6 years and it's not even close.
-
About 10-15 Beatles songs are over played and for the most part they aren't their best. Lennon-McCartney have over 200 original tunes to their credit. I've seen it written that it's the most of anyone since Mozart.
Whatever. People like what they like. You can't really tell them what to like or I would and I doubt that would be much fun for anyone...aside from me.
