People forget that Obama hates the suburbs and the people who live there

So did Big Brother. He let the proles do whatever they wanted for the most part. Saved his real magic for the middle class.

Define assault rifle. Is it fully semiautomatic?
I'd say 53 seconds @pawz but the question is still unanswered.
Basically like the rest of this thread.

Another question. If the police need AR-15s for self-defense then why would dems deny that protection to the general community? (Rhetorical question). The leftards might pretend to have some moral high ground if there was a solid commitment to actual policing the criminals. But there isn't. "Please leave it to the police" is now just a joke.

Fully semi-automatic, lolz
I expect you know fully well that assault weapons have no consistent definition, even among the 7 states with assault weapon bans.
The 1994 federal ban defined it as "In general, assault weapons are semiautomatic firearms with a large magazine of ammunition that were designed and configured for rapid fire and combat use."
I also expect you know fully well the types of weapons and modifications used in many mass shootings, and what common sense regulations and banning of certain weapons/mods mean, but the Tug is incapable of addressing or admitting an issue exists. Deflections and strawmen always. Kamala mandatory buybacks! Reeeeee. So dumb.
Common sense regulations, mental health investment, and law enforcement reforms are all part of a comprehensive strategy that's needed to attack gun violence, especially the mass killing type. These can all co-exist, believe it or not.
Same shit with climate change. The Tug can't even admit problems and needs for solutions exist as a baseline.
Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Nothing can be done.

So if I already own an assault weapon can I keep it?

I imagine so. Voluntary buybacks seem sensible though. And licensing/registration, like driving a car. Whatever it takes to help keep that shit in responsible citizen's hands and away from the scum. Any law abiding citizen should have no problem with this if they care about reducing gun violence.
This isn't black and white. There will always be bad actors trying to skirt the system, but it needs to be harder to do so. It's about reducing risk, not eliminating it. That would be impossible.
I don't have the answers, I only have ideas and an understanding that new solutions are needed. The status quo is insane. American gun culture is crazy. I understand the appeal. I don't own, but I've used many times. I get it. I also understand the appeal of oxycodone and why you need a prescription.
