Tacoma, taking into account no traffic (which still isn't nearly as bad as Seattle), the number of courses to play within half an hour, gives a lot of variety, and interesting holes along the way.
Plus a bit easier access to Gold Mountain, and lower rate courses like Rivers Edge in Tumwater.
If you have @PurpleBaze uber money then Tacoma, Fircrest and some other private courses in Gig Harbor and Olympia are also accessible.

The Tacoma stuff is on its own, it's all very good down there.
Seattle wise, Druids Glen is easily the best public option that isn't an hour+ away. Newcastle fucking blows honestly.
I've always assumed Newcastle was great and should be on the bucket list. hhmmmmmm
