Derek, Joey and Woolley assess the state of Washington Football in the early stages of the Jedd Fisch era. The boys resisted the impulse to go down the Germie Bernard rabbit hole.
I doubt that Deboer's staff tried harder than Petersen in recruiting, at least according to Cooper Petagna.
In his interview he described how fired up Petersen would get to go close the players that he really wanted. And his sales pitch was really fucking effective, fuck all the OKG hate.
We'll only get to minimum contract length for signing NLI once the Big Ten and SEC merge and break away, which will happen. Then contract length can be bargained for in exchange for revenue sharing of TV deals. Until then there is no legal way to put restrictions on labor.
Trust me I wish he was still on the team and was really excited to see what he could do as a #1 option in 2023 in his third year of college football. I would have taken keeping him over bringing in Hunter if that was an option. I just thought he was more prolific and explosive in 2023 than he really was. Also, keep in mind McMillan was out so he was the #3 guy a lot in an offense that passes a ton.
I think DeBoer taking him at Alabama is the best testament to how good he is.
He played hurt the second half of the season and helped preserve the redshirt for Jackson while McMillan was dealing with his stuff.
Had a big KOR vs oregon in game one. Big punt return vs oregon in game two and scored a TD. Guy can play and would have been featured this year. He is a loss. I will say wdwha to make myself feel better.
Tim DeRuyter? was the DC you’re thinking of I think.
To avoid raiding a teams roster after a coaching change there should be three criteria for the existing roster, minus the unenrolled recruiting class. One, only grad transfers can immediately transfer out. They’re on their very last year and should be afforded the opportunity to get to a new team for spring ball. They graduated, they earned the ticket. Second, everyone else including early enrollees should have to stay through Spring ball. Give the strength staff and new coaches a couple months to show the kids what they have. Third, after spring ball any player is now allowed to enter the spring portal, regardless of how many transfers the kids have on record. By the spring game the coaching staff should have a great idea of who’s leaving and who’s staying and can plan for the next window accordingly. It also lets the harsh emotions of the kids die down and allows them to look at their future critically. My 2c.
Bernard could've been a featured guy at UW. At Alabama, I think he's a #3 WR/KR, at best. And he was always playing on a hurt ankle at UW. Bigger loss for UW than a gain for Alabama, but DeBoer had to steal as much talent from UW as he could because he knew he'd be losing kids at Alabama and UW was one of a couple schools that would have the coaches portal open to backfill his new roster. I'd be surprised if Bernard does much of anything.
Yep DeRutyer. Didn't even know he went to Texas Tech after Oregon. Him or Sirmon seemed like the typical hire. I'm cool with trying something new. Hope that he feels like he has something to prove. Did Myles Bryant give him a good review?

Thanks Taft!
Miss pup. Wish he was here to rag on me for my 30K+ shitposts.
Bernard wasn't productive except in those goal line end arounds/sweeps. I'd prefer we not even have to run that shit in the red zone anyways.
He didn't suck. I'd take him back

Glad you and the boys resisted the impulse to go down.

Would’ve made for a really interesting show. I’m just sayin.
Bart Fullmer is the equipment manager that told Hugh how hard the previous staff allegedly worked.
This sounds like it would be my alias. Also, nothing more reliable as a source than former equipment manager.

Also, if I were writing a novel about a nosy equipment manager, his name would be Bart Fullmer.

If he could only see you now!
I figured they were talking about Peter Sirmon

Former? That dude has been around for 35 years, I'd imagine he knows WTF he's talking about when it comes to previous staffs.
