Hi blue and gold fans! Fellow purple and gold fan just looking forward to traveling to Tejas for the GRAND DADDY OF THEM ALL ship (I like to call championship games ships btw). This will be my first time visiting Houston but I figured I would make the exotic trip to the deep south a bit of vacation! What a wild ride for you guys, from the Land of 10,000 Lakes to the state that doesn't have a single natural lake, its like both teams are on their own destinys, a bit of DAWG sense, if you will. I'm definately thinking about checking out the Kennedy Space Center or maybe hit up a surf shop near Galveston and hope to see plenty of you there. There is a really cool night walking tour through the historic southwest 3rd ward Ive read about that comes highly recommended. Ive also heard that Houstonian BBQ and Churros are really great too but I have my doubts as to whether or not it can stand up to our famous pregame Seattle ribs and rickshaw special. I know its a long flight from Detriot but I'm guessing I will see a lot of you snow geese down there and look forward to the friendly banter.
Anyway, I really think UW has a chance to go all the way this year, and it all started with a decisive win over our great former huskie coach Sark, who we obviously still bark for, Its great that he is finally overcoming his disease and having 3 out of the 4 coaches in the playoffs being from the PAC12 is just really cool man. Anyways, Here’s 5 reasons why I like my DAWGS to win.
1. Michael Big Penix Energy Jr. He is the best player on the field, enough said on that. Heisman winner, Maxwell Trophy winner, Bilentikoff runner-up. He has 4 years of high school and 6 years of college under his belt and will do whatever he can to win the game.
2. Offensive Line. We average a weight of 332 across the line, and they are ready to dominate the line of scrimmage. Roger Rosegarden, Jackson Powers-Johnson, Center, Ossai, Big "Orange Julius" Buelow. These boys have an attitude and are ready to rumble!!!
3. Chuck "Steak" Morell. A new defensive scheme and a new attitude. Everyone is raving about the difference between our game plan since firing Inge and slotting Chuck into his role at DC. Don't be fooled by the stats, this defense has taken a HUGE step forward under new leadership and the stats speak for themselves.
4. Speed, speed, speed. This is the fastest team Washington has had this century, probably since the Legion of Zoom team from 2014! Rome Odunzoe, Germ-Bern, Ja'Lynn McClatcher, Ja'Lynn Polk, Ja'Lynn "catches more than he drops" Mickens, Nate Fellner. This is a deeply veteran lineup, but it's the new guys who have really changed the complexion of this team. We haven't seen this much speed since the Legion of Zoom team from 2014.
5. Time of possession. I think we can win the time of possession battle in this one. the more we can control the ball and keep our defense off the field, the greater chance we’ll have to win.
I think UW wins this one rather easily, say… 34-17???
I’m in tears. Your first paragraph is fucking gold. Their responses were predictable, but enjoyable, as always. 5 reasons: 60% of the time, it works every time.
