I am so sick of people saying this was an "impossible choice".
It was easy. FSU undefeated, and Bama got beat by Texas.
But it seems that after years of listening to experts talk about what the committee values, it was all a lie. What they really value is the SEC. For most teams, a loss at home to Texas would be grounds for not being in the playoffs. But for the SEC, it seems that losses only prove how good the other team is. It was this same garbage logic that kept FSU ranked higher than the UW most of the year -- they beat LSU.
I just feel fortunate that they didn't decide Georgia was also deserving and bump the Dawgs out of the playoffs. Wouldn't suprise me at all to find out that was actually discussed. And people need to remember that if FSU's QB didn't go down, it is very likely that we are the ones on the outside looking in. If you think beating Oregon twice means anything to these clowns, think again. Just as beating an SEC team shows how good you are, beating a non SEC team only shows how bad the other team is or how lucky you are.
The whole thing is and has been a joke for so long. Automatic bids for all conference champions and then 6 at large via the committee. Everything else is stupid.

If Deion Sanders is the Florida State head coach, do they get left out of the CFP?
