Lanning wins the little ones like Bobby Bowden. Bobby eventually won some big ones

Mario loses games he shouldn't but won the ones he needed

Winners do win. Lanning has more. Doesn't mean Mario sucks

    Yep.

Mario's biggest problem, and singling out just one is hard, is that what he wants to do absolutely is the shit and if you can do it you will win and win a lot and predictably. But having these O Lines that just road grade everybody and run your way to dominance is next to impossible now. With passing as sophisticated as it is, you need to be just so much more dominant that all the D lines out there and it's hard. Even Bama doesn't do it every year because they can't. Great O lines don't grow on trees. Running backs are a dime a dozen. But you need what everyone else wants, and you need a depth of them because they go down.

We? all want to be Jimmy Johnson's Cowboys dynasty, where the passing game is a nice compliment to an offense that otherwise just runs it up your butter bean and controls the game tempo and keeps your QB on the sideline.

Saw TVD portaled. May as well. He was broken.

He gets another year from me, no problem.

Completely bizarre season. Lost 2 games by a total of 6 points (to one team), won the rest by about 300.

You can see player improvement under this staff unlike under the last 3 guys.

    Seaver is holding on Lanning.

Seems a bit understated if we're being honest. Lanning isn't even 40 yet and he's built a legitimate juggernaut. It brings unquantifiable joy that we are the one hurdle he can't yet clear, but it's only year two for a guy who is going to be a head coach for decades to come.

Lanning > Mario coaching wise if you ask me. Not that my opinion matters shit here in Jonestown. Mario is showing his true colors down in south beach. People forget he inherited good players that Helfrich and Willie couldn’t figure out what to do with

Nobody from Jonestown disagrees with you.

    Lol.

Like Lannding showed up to an empty cupboard. 75% of my Mario takes are sure.gif tongue-in-cheek for your entertainment; but this isn’t your best work.

What are “true colors” anyway? Was it false colors when he went 3-0 and won a Rosy? Beat Buck? I’ve never understood use of that phrase describing a coach who is not doing well.

    I know, but but but.

Lanning is a good coach who assembled a staff of amazing recruiters though they probably aren't the best position coaches.

Oregon's schedule wasn't very difficult as their non-conference schedule was headlined by Texas Tech (come from behind win against them too) and they caught Utah and Oregon State at their worst moments (Utah reeling from peak injuries and Oregon State coming off a very difficult loss to UW, missing two OL starters, and finding out about Smith leaving before the game so it was a funeral for them).
Oregon thrashed Utah at SLC. Utah is not the same without a healthy Cam Rising. Andy Ludwig is a career OC who’s very average.

Oregon has had zero problem with OSU AT AUTZEN historically (last 30 years). The Beavs have beaten Oregon twice AT AUTZEN since 1993 (1993 and 2007). This year would have been no different.

Oregon playing at Parker/Reser is a different story.

1: Lanning is a young coach

    2: DeBoer outcoached him. Again.

3: Nix is what he has been. Great against lesser defenses, not too good against GA or Bama types.

4: Lanning has a few steps to go to get to Kirby or Saban standards

    5: Be glad he’s out

6: He’s young. Recruit and be passionate.

7: saw some saying he would be the next coach at Bama once Saban retires. No way.

    hmmrhead!
