Completely bizarre season. Lost 2 games by a total of 6 points (to one team), won the rest by about 300.
You can see player improvement under this staff unlike under the last 3 guys.
Seaver is holding on Lanning.
Lanning is a good coach who assembled a staff of amazing recruiters though they probably aren't the best position coaches.
Oregon's schedule wasn't very difficult as their non-conference schedule was headlined by Texas Tech (come from behind win against them too) and they caught Utah and Oregon State at their worst moments (Utah reeling from peak injuries and Oregon State coming off a very difficult loss to UW, missing two OL starters, and finding out about Smith leaving before the game so it was a funeral for them).

That’s a lot of moral losses, by 4 touchdowns.
The above is no different than any other season as teams play out the schedule. I honestly don’t have any interest in the comic book writing that some of you do.

You are shooting the messenger. You said it was a bizarre season and I pointed out why it wasn't that bizarre when analyzed properly. Another aspect is that Oregon missed Arizona on the schedule and they proved to be the 3rd best team in the conference. If Arizona and Oregon had played, Arizona would have had a decent shot of winning (2 of their 3 losses were in OT and their 3rd loss was to UW by 7 at home).

I'm glad you're holding Mike.
My favorite attribute of Dan Lanning is that he can't win shit and yet will still be unfirable long enough for Phil's Alzheimers to set in.

Guess we'll agree to disagree. @haie also pointed out how things fell favorably for Oregon in not getting Arizona (along with getting USC and Oregon State at opportune moments).

The USC-Utah-Beav stretch where they were ALL elimination games for them, plus the most greased up Coug Apple Cup of all time was the hardest test any team in this conference faced.
Not to mention they got Arizona and Oregon back to back, and the bye week meant nothing because Oregon got one too.

They are a better team than they were under Cristobal (sorry @creepycoug ) except for against UW which is an oddity quite honestly
3-0, tanned, certainly not rested, but soon ready to go!

Makes my stomach turn.
Now. On to yer video and review…
2: DeBoer outcoached him. Again.
3: Nix is what he has been. Great against lesser defenses, not too good against GA or Bama types.
4: Lanning has a few steps to go to get to Kirby or Saban standards
5: Be glad he’s out
6: He’s young. Recruit and be passionate.
7: saw some saying he would be the next coach at Bama once Saban retires. No way.

Getting USC and Oregon State with nothing to play for and quitter head coaches was also huge.

Sure it's fun to talk shit but beating them twice this year is an accomplishment
And it's been a bizarre year for Washington in a lot of ways
They avoided every usual landmine and look like they're ready to compete this time in the playoffs
Kind of reminds me of 2001 Oregon who had a ton of close calls but had the underlying grit to get it done. But did hit one landmine.

Mario loses games he shouldn't but won the ones he needed
Winners do win. Lanning has more. Doesn't mean Mario sucks
