@Baseman you are usually right, but youre wrong here.

UW absolutely has the donor base to make this happen. Nordstroms, Weyerhaeuser, @Sonics1994...some big money.

The state and Inslee couldnt care less. They kicked cuog to the curb and blow far more money on stupid shit that doesnt pencil

Deboer pencils rather easily, say 21-2 and 17 straight wins?

Sure but until has turns to is it's all speculation (someone kindly post the speculation disclaimer @dnc @GrundleStiltzkin ) The Nordstroms and Gates have been large donors for academis. Athletics, not so much

For someone as worldly as you, PGOS you should know doubling the states highest paid employee, who happens to be a football coach, in this ECONOMY won't go over well. Teachers will cry foul, etc.
It's a good thing the collectivist teacher drivel means diddly squat.

This is still a capitalism or die state, for the time being.

No income tax. Most regressive taxes in the nation. The poors pay more taxes than in any other state in the great state of WA.

If AMC wants to pay DeBoer, which she does, it will happen. Im not worried. At all.

This line of thinking youre going down might be worth something if UW was sitting here holding our limp dicks in the Pac 8 on some Apple TV contract.

We are in the B1G. The state left cuog to die.

Time for our fanbase to let the trauma and ptsd die. We have a big clit President in town.
I didn't say we aren't offering DeBoer a massive raise. It's just not the 8 figures annually some think we can pay.

maybe when you replace Grubb and get your guyz in there and the offense firing on all cylinders, the whales will see the light and open the purse strings

What is deboer worth? 8 mil? Do we think UW is trying to give him 6 and he's forced to be public about the BS offer or is he being unnecessarily cavalier over a few hundred K $ by sounding uncommitted to the media?

Follow the $: Assume KDB keeps it rocking. 6home games, UW puts 10,000 additional asses in seats at $35 per. This equates to $2.1 million. Where does the rest come from?

A little over a year ago Karen was running point on NIL in between dropping recipes and promoting her onlyfans on social media. Heard she was also taking meetings (Lord knows she wasn't rainmaking) alongside Jen with prospective donors.

UWs half share of Big 10 $ will barely cover the additional travel expenses over the next few years.

Absent a whale donor(s), UW can't afford $10M per and a higher asst. pool

Give Ana credit. She's greenlit a raise she'll have to justify to the regents and the state. Doubling the states highest paid employee's salary will generate plenty of blowback from an Inslee-led Reich
How do you get to $35? What are you discounting from the $65-70/ticket average sale price?

Yeah I'd double the average ticket price, though we won't be getting an extra 10k fans. There is basically no marginal cost for tickets sold above 60k fans, and the seats available are usually all over stadium when it's not sold out, especially along the 50s as those are the most expensive. Plus your concession sales should increase in proportion.

UW averaged 63,000 fans a game last year and should finish around 69,000 this year. 6,000 x 7 x $70 = $2.9M extra in ticket sales alone.
I paid far less than $70 per, including the fees for good 100 level seats. There is no marginal cost, it's marginal revenue UW nets. Even at your $2.9 number that will be far less than just DeBoers raise, IF he accepts the raise and doesn't go for the highest bidder.

Either way, UW can't afford $10M per without an athletic sugar daddy...

He along with other donors are picking up most of Oregons stadium cost
Other major contributions from Knight, his spouse, his companies or consortiums led by Knight include:

    · $100 million for an athletic legacy fund that helped fund the Matthew Knight Arena and other UO projects.

$41.7 million for a student-athlete academic and tutoring center.

This doesn't include the off-the-books player coach payroll/NIL

Did you buy those tickets directly from UW or through a ticket reseller? Face value is the only thing that matters for ticket revenue. I've never seen sub-$70 100 level seats outside of maybe FCS matchups, unless you're talking about Stubhub or something.

Stubhub but the University? was shown as the seller, except for Oregon. I paid the following, including fees per ticket. All were in the 100 level on the south side.

    Tulsa: $25
    Boise St: $50
    Oregon: $250ish

Taking those prices, spitballing UWs take, then assuming the increase in attendance will come in the 300 level, that's how I came up with $35. It might be more. It could be less. Whatever the case, the bump in attendance won't cover DeBoers raise IMO.

I think we only get another $5-$7 million a year with a half Big-12 share and there will be increased travel expenses across all sports.

In any event, even with our Ana stepping up we need more donor $ to keep competitive, even assuming we retain DeBoer.

When do we stop paying Jimmy Lake?

Our next offensive coordinator is probably not as expensive but our next defensive coordinator/staff might need to be. There is some room to work with there.

I feel like concession sales is overlooked. Fans on average probably spends a fair bit on beer, nachos and merch relative to tix cost

Just have DeBoner pledge 2-3% of his contract to fighting climate change. Herr Inslee will love it.

Ticket prices have to increase 10-20% next year. Look at that schedule, especially if Cuog fills the last game.
