if the author had considered Petersen would lose his next 14 straight then the two coaches would be neck and neck.

Do you want Kim to list reasons why Sark lost those games? Sark had good reasons for those losses. Lots of twisting going on.

You mean like the Oregon State game? ;-)

That does remind me of the 2012 Oregon State game when the beavs were 6-0 and ranked #7. Sark never stopped hyping up his "win over a top-10 team", even though after UW, OSU lost 3 of their next 6 games and were not close to being a top-10 team the rest of the year.

Sark didn't lose those games; it was the players.

For those curious, using ESPN data:

    Petersen: (7-4)
W vs. #11 Oklahoma 43-42 OT (Fiesta Bowl)
    L @ #14 Hawaii 39-27
    W @ #17 Oregon 37-32
    L vs. #7 TCU 17-16 (Poinsettia Bowl)
    W vs. #16 Oregon 19-8
    W vs. #6 TCU 17-10 (Fiesta Bowl)
    W vs. #10 Virginia Tech 33-30
    W vs. #24 Oregon State 37-24
    L vs. #19 Nevada 34-31 OT
    W @ #19 Georgia 35-21
    L @ #13 Michigan State 17-13

    Sark: (8-18)
    L vs. #11 LSU 31-23
    W vs. #3 USC 16-13
    L vs. #12 Oregon 43-19
    W vs. #19 California 42-10
    L vs. #8 Nebraska 56-21
    W @ #18 USC 32-31
    W vs. #24 Oregon State 35-34 2OT
    L @ #15 Arizona 44-14
    L vs. #13 Stanford 41-0
    L @ #1 Oregon 53-16
    W vs. #20 Nebraska 19-7 (Holiday Bowl)
    L @ #11 Nebraska 51-38
    L @ #7 Stanford 65-21
    L vs. #6 Oregon 34-17
    L @ #18 USC 40-17
    L vs. #13 Baylor 67-56 (Alamo Bowl)
    L @ #3 LSU 41-3
    W vs. #8 Stanford 17-13
    L @ #2 Oregon 52-21
    L vs. #11 USC 24-14
    W vs. #7 Oregon State 20-17
L vs. #18 Boise State 28-26 (Las Vegas Bowl)
    W vs. #19 Boise State 38-6
    L @ #5 Stanford 31-28
    L vs. #2 Oregon 45-24
    L @ #13 UCLA 41-31

Petersen's worst loss was by 12 points to a Hawaii team that went to the Sugar Bowl (same on that throttled Ty after going up 21-0 in the 1Q). His 3 other losses came by 4 points (MSU), 1 point (TCU) and a game in OT thanks to 2 missed FGs (for those who forgot, the classic highlights: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FXLT359VDc).

Put that in comparison to Sark who has the following losses worse than Petersen: a 44p L to Stanford, 41p L to Stanford, 38p L to LSU, 37p L to Oregon, 35p L to Nebraska, 31p L to Oregon, 30p L to Arizona, 24p L to Oregon, 23p L to USC, 21p L to Oregon, 17p L to Oregon, and a 13p L to Nebraska. That's 12 losses worse than Petersen's worst loss.

One final tidbit of information. The point differential for Petersen in Top 25 games is +34 whereas Sark is -310. The average scores of these games have Petersen winning 28.0 to 24.9 whereas Sark loses 23.4 to 35.3.

ESPN is your source? Whole lot of twisting going on out here.

Sorry 12s, Kapernick was a grown ass man in that game, at least the second half. Helluva game.

So they both have won 8. Seems like a tie to me.

That's what I am hearing too. Before the people go ballistic on me I am not saying he is Ty, can't ignore the similarities at the moment though. We will see I guess.

Here are some real basic stats and notables:

    Petersen vs top 25:

    Avg points for: 28
    Avg points against: 26
    Avg margin: +2
    Worst loss: -12
    Other losses: -1, -3, -4

    Sark vs top 25:

    Avg points for: 23
    Avg points against: 35
    Avg margin: -12
    Worst loss: -44
    notable losses: -24, -35, -30, -41, -37, -23, -38, -31, -21

What percentage of those games were home/road/neutral? I'm assuming that will demonstrate Peterman's superiority as well.

Did Peterman have to host a ranked Oregon State?
