Sure, we've had better overall teams in years past, but 2023 presents the greatest marketing opportunity ever for UW.
1) Boys in the Boat hits movie theaters on December 25th and Clooney gets wins Best Director Oscar
2) Our first ever legit Heisman Trophy candidate
3) Serious CFP contender
It all starts on Saturday. Beat OU - Nothing Else Matters!
Napoleon Kaufman wasn't a legit candidate?
Did he go to NY?
In 1994, he was a second-team All-American, finished ninth in Heisman Trophy voting (receiving three first-place ballots), and is a member of the University of Washington Hall of Fame. As of 2022, Kaufman still held UW's career all-purpose yardage record, amassing 5,832 total yards.
Returning for his senior year to a Lambo team that was on probation and stumbled to 7-4 while birthing Oregon. For his loyalty alone he deserves a fucking statue next to Don James
He rushed for 1,440 yards that year and had his team been USC or Notre Dame he would have won it going away. To say he wasn't legit is fucking heresy you hammrhead. Puh!

1. Very excited for the movie. What do you think of Edgerton cast as Ulbrickson? I’m a big Joel Edgerton guy. Doesn’t take bad gigs
2. I’m trying to warn everyone here—no one out west has a shot if Michigan goes 13-0. The maize and blue national media will make sure it goes to their boy JJ, even though he’s a JAG in a run-heavy offense
I don't have an opinion yet. But in preview pics her looks the part.
I remember Musburger hyping up Nip before the Miami game. He had done well against Ohio State. Miami shut him down and UW won rather easily without him. Then the season went to shit
Chandler was a contender in 86. Team did not perform

Same with Pickett going in to his senior season. Ohio State ended that in a hurry

Has there ever been a season that went more to shit than '94 on so many levels?

No
I already hated Lambo as head coach but that sealed it in an impenetrable tomb

If we pull off a conference title and Rose Bowl appearance to bracket the movie release… I can’t even begin to imagine the number of doctor visits due to Free Pub Doog boners which don’t recede for 3+ weeks
And if we win that Rose Bowl and play for Natty…. Hoooooooooooo boi

tbh, we are getting a lot of free pup that we did not receive in 2016 (who i think is better team)
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Washington men's and women's rowing teams will compete this Sunday at the 58th Head of the Charles Regatta, the premier fall rowing event of the year.
The UW program will also host "The Boys In The Boat" pavilion for fans, supporters and alumni, in honor of the forthcoming release of the new MGM film, based on the book by Daniel James Brown about the 1936 Husky crew that won Olympic Gold. The movie, directed by George Clooney, is due to the theaters this Christmas Day.
The BITB Pavilion, which features movie props, a trailer screening room and more about the "BITB" story, will be open to all on Friday and Saturday, and will serve as the UW hospitality tent from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
The Huskies will have two men's and women's crews in each of the two marquee eights competitions – the Men's and Women's Championship Eights. The UW women will also enter one crew in the Women's Championship Fours.
One of the two UW Men's Championship Eights crews will row in a new "Boys in the Boat" shell, constructed of carbon fiber created to look like the wooden "Husky Clipper" shell in which the '36 crew competed.
The northeast media loves them some HOCR which is a great event. Better win to take the pub up even more. Though the rowing team better keep fighting for wins and not for clicks.
