The Connerly stuff is laughable ... 5* 2nd year OT that you're asking to move to TE?

Forget about positional value for a second ...

    How incompetent is Dan Lanning?

Given the shit his boy Dildo Dillingham is doing down at STD U ...

Damn dude, tcu being exposed after you talked all that shit really broke your brain. Conerly isn’t moving to TE, hth
If UW/UO/Utah/SC goes into the conference championship undefeated and then loses, they shouldn't get into the CFP. Fucking ridiculous that even happened.
You kinda just forgot they beat Michigan eh
They wouldn't deserve to even be in the game.

Going into a conference championship with a loss in your back pocket is FS. Undeserving of a CFP spot.

I kind of agree. It was a tight loss to a team ranked #10 though. CCGs should matter but they did show they deserved to be there by winning the semi final

Oregon lost 2 more Lanning recruits today (thats 5 or 6 now). Oregon fans are pretty sure it's because they were really good but once they saw the list of high school prospects that Lanning is bringing in next year, they realized they would never see the field.

Also interesting, Oregon has had 7 linebackers transfer out this offseason. I don't think UW even has 7 scholarship LBs

You should be processing out 5-6 kids from the previous year’s class every season or you’re doing it wrong. Highly recruited kids show up on campus and within a week of fall camp you know which ones you need to cut already.

It’s one of the reasons why the SEC has been kicking everyone’s ass for the last decade + while Oregon and Washington have been letting glorified walk ons stay on the roster for 5 years.

Also iirc 4 of those guys (including taggart) signed less than 48 hours after lanning was hired, so I wouldn’t really categorize them as “his guys”.

Sounds like player development is at an all time high.

What does player development have to do with kids who are on campus for a week? Some kids just don’t have it, no matter how they looked in HS, and it’s usually very apparent early on. See; smalls. UW should have told him to go portaling after his freshman (or sophomore) season. Would have given you another bite at the apple with another kid you could have brought in. If that kid sucks, portal his ass too. It’s a numbers game. You get as many kids in as you can every year. And in order to do that, you tell the ones who aren’t really going to be contributors to look elsewhere. It kinda sucks that that is what college football has become, but the SEC has been playing that game with medical retirements and suddenly senior-ing for 15 years now. And it allows them to bring in 30+ new guys each year

Smalls was actually at his best his freshman year in 2020. Trice was nothing. Odunze and McMillan literally could not catch when they were freshman or fight for the ball in Macmillan’s case. Bbk was dragged by everyone for a couple of years before he took off. Culp actually sucked pretty bad. Kevin king was awful until they moved him to the slot and then corner. Tyler Huntley was awful his first 3 years at Utah. Off the top of my head that a lot of nfl draft picks or future picks that were bad when they arrived. Players can actually get better. Foreign concept to some programs. Oregon is not alone how they go about it, but acting you know when their 18 years old is stupid.
The guys who you tell to get lost after 1 year usually aren’t talent/size related. Think about what separates smalls from the guys above and you’ll get it.

Yeah as fans we have no in sight into their mental make up and drive to work.

Smalls rumored to not work hard off of the field (weight room etc…)

And he was always overrated. Probably could be a contributor as a senior if he really wanted it. Didn’t appear that he did. You don’t know this in fall camp their freshmen year though.
