Finally watched Sinners. Maybe never seen a movie I don't know how I feel about more than this. No getting around though that the first I'm not kidding hour+ is so slow I had to make it content I can only watch while running on a treadmill. There's also a lot of weird doesn't seem like the 30s dirty sex shit (but not sexy) which continues my thought that a lot of directors are oddly specifically perverted in a way.
Hard to assess really because of all the hype around it, but at the very least doesn't come anywhere near to that hype. I did like the final kind of credits scene.

Watched the first two Alien Earth episodes after being super excited about the show for years now. Actually seems to kind of move into action/gore way too fast and doesn't seem like the tone at all I was expecting from the creator. Also some of the wildest shit of does this make sense in a movie set in like 2150 with heavy Ice Age (Pixar movie) inclusion and 1970s baseball and people having Renaissance parties?
My big gripe so far is the alien always kind of came off as a semi-realistic monster with semi-realistic motivations and the one in it so far instead is a tornado of gore that seems like its more psycho murderer than reproduction-motivated giant insect.

I've never watched an Alien movie. Don't judge me
I watched episode 1 of Alien Earth and it took the whole show to realize it was THAT Alien.
I thought they were asking a lot of me to follow synthetic and cyborgs and hybrids but it makes sense that movie fans would know
Ill watch episode 2 and decide

This is pretty hilarious. The first two movies, which are 100x the best things the franchise produced, and some of the best sci-fi/action/horror movies of all-time had the secret robot shit in them and some of the this is really about an evil corporation shit, but it was like 5% of it and every release since then has seemed to quadruple down on the robot and evil company stuff.
-
I watched Aliens and the sequel to that movie which was kinda dumb. I then tried Prometheus but thought it was dumb and haven’t anything else in the franchise and don’t really care.
-
Episode 2 was not promising. Don't give a shit about her brother and dark corridors with fake electric sparks gets old after 60 minutes
-
Great review! It's the most flagrant violator I've ever seen of people not acting scared in the way they should be in situations. That brother will constantly almost be slaughtered by a nightmarish alien but then escape and kind of walk around and have conversations like it's a typical day at the office.
You're talking about Aliens?
-
Yes. Aren’t you talking about Aliens?
-
I liked Covenant and Romulus. Just as sci fi horror movies. Covenant probably has the most disturbing kill scene of any of the movies.
Romulus' color palette and cinematography made it well worth it.
Prometheus was a terrible way to try and reboot the franchise, if your goal was to get fans of the first movies back into it.

This feels personal.

My friend actually wore this shirt in college. I think it was a Mazatlan shirt on top of it. Also had a friend who went to one of those dances in high school where you and the date wear the same outfit and he went with a No Fat Chicks sweatshirt and his girlfriend had to wear it.
-
Did the No fat Chicks guy get laid? Because he should’ve
-
No Fat Chicks sweatshirt guy did. It was his girlfriend. Pretty funny because she ended up going to a women's liberal arts college and I am sure had to burn the picture of her in that sweatshirt and hope no one ever found out about it. The guy who wore the Mission Impossible Mazatlan shirt very much did not get laid wearing it.
-
Watched Romulus to watch all of the Alien movies. Very impressed actually. Probably the best of the movies in the series after Alien and Aliens. Might take Race a while to realize what Alien it is though. Less sparks in dark hallways.
-
Watched Oblivion with Cruise and Olga Kurleyenko. Under rated IMO. She stayed clothed which hurt it. The other Cruise alien movie I've watched a few times is Edge of Tomorrow. Humans have a thing about groundhog day types of movies where you get as many chances as it takes to get it right
Because we tend to get it wrong the one chance we get
-
I dunno my buddy is such a huge fan of Daniel Day Lewis and thinks that There Will Be Blood is such a uniquely American classic that I can't help but be interested in this
-
As an irrational sci fi hater I was seriously impressed with Edge of Tomorrow and would agree with public opinion that they should continue that IP. What's her name is amazingly hot and has great chemistry with everyone so naturally she carried that film almost more than Cruz.

I saw naked gun last night

Watched the first two episodes of the Amanda Knox Hulu scripted series. One of the first scenes shows her on the UW campus wearing a Washington Huskies shirt but it's red and white, which is weird - they're able to use the name but not the colors.
Series is nothing special though the main actress is more foxy than Foxy Knoxy. I'm kind of surprised being a Hollywood production it's fine with portraying Europeans as doofuses and not some like genius humanitarians in all cases.
-
Monica Lewinsky is an Executive Producer.
-
Woman playing Foxy Knoxy > > > > Foxy Knoxy > > > Monica but both, wood.
-
Monica looks better now than when she was blowing Clinton.
-
This is true. There is also just a general thing where almost everyone, even if they are significantly older now, looks better than they did like 1995-2010. I don't know if it's that people figured out around then soda and juice made you fat or people started seeing what they actually looked like regularly on social media and realized they needed to lose weight. They style of that time was also atrocious.

There's no other possible review for this movie. None
