Couple things jumped out in the LZ movie
They finished out the Yardbirds contract with a show in Norway. It was a young audience. The jarheads looked on in stunned silence and amazement.
Then they did a live BBC show with kids holding their hands over their ears and adults dressed like they were going to church sitting in stunned silence. Maybe a shake of the head and wry smile if they saw the camera on them
Nobody was grooving but nobody booed or left either. It was something new

I wish I would have saved the tweet, but somebody responded to the comment about how the book is all horror in the vain of, "If they made the movies exactly like the book, then 75% of the film would be technical diagrams and smoke filled discussions about cloning."
-
I saw that exact tweet and actually laffed out loud. It's at the top of my list of movies that are better than the book (not that it's not a good book) and I thought they did it perfectly maintaining the darkness of the book but still making it a blockbuster movie. I would love to see one of the more horror versions which were pitched in the development but don't think they land as well.

Feels like the 60s era groups are officially fading from memory outside of The Beatles and maybe The Stones and they're trying to do the Jordan The Last Dance thing (Dylan and Queen movies too) and remind everyone how great they were, but it's not gonna happen with LZ. They had a good 40-year run as being kind of a cooler and heavier than The Beatles and Stones but feels like they've really fallen off the last 5-10 years and they're gonna have problems with being viewed as vampires of black music and banging 12 year olds from now on.

I think LZ will win in the end

A Complete Unknown
Have never been into folk music or Dylan but the story is interesting. Never knew he was boinking Joan Baez.

Not as hot as a lot of the 60s chicks but for a dude that looks like Bob Dylan, she was probably a pretty good catch.
Plus the hot chicks were banging rockers not folk singers.

I enjoyed it more than I thought. The "mailed in" aspect to me was a few performances (Tom Hardy, his wife in the show), and the usual problems of needing to make a 10 hour movie that hits all the plot points Paramount thinks will give it enough views.
The lawyer chick was 🚬🚬🚬

Liked the Boob Dylan movie. I'm pro Chalamet - we need more people culturally in this country who show it's okay to like artsy fartsy shit and sports and kind of be a bro at the same time. I can't be the only one.

Jurassic Park Rebirth
I should have known some kids would fuck it up and get people killed. And it was pretty woke as well. It was kind of like Aliens. Scarlett looked fantastic. Her boobs were looking great.
