They have Transnistria or whatever the fuck it's called right next door. Weird strip of land that is essentially Russia
Like the one the CIA engineered in Ukraine?
DeMocraCY!
Page 3 and Dick Cheney told me that defending democracy halfway around the world is important.
The Tug taught me that we should go full blown isolationist and have no interests outside our borders. Let Russia and China run rampant!
No one has said be a Tokugawa style full blown isolationist. Quit meddling in and overthrowing foreign governments and then be surprised when that pisses someone off. Total miscalculation.

Fair. I would not consider providing aid to Ukraine as that criteria. Major conflicts of the last 75 years or so that meet your criteria:
Iraq - Yes. Insane waste of resources. Could the country stabilize and become and ally? TBD, but not worth it IMO.
Afghanistan - No. Had to respond after 9/11. Bailing ala Biden was the wrong call and wrong method.
Desert Storm 1.0 - No. Iraq deserved to get its ass kicked out of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia
Serbia - No. Genocide.
Vietnam - Yes. The South was incompetent, inept, and Vietnam westernized anyways.
Korea - No. South Korea wanted our help and it was the right call. Thriving economy and staunch ally with a serious military now.
Meddling in Central and South America - Meh. Minor in the grand scheme of things. CIA did shady shit for sure, but don't know enough about it.

Making general statements like that is what get you involved in everything, everywhere. I can buy justifying GW1 because we had real interests there in terms of resources, and real allies, not because of who deserved what. And arming Iraq in the 80's didn't exactly turn out well.
