It really shows how terrible we were in coverage this year. It should have been interception city with all the pressure
One of the most consistent pass rushes I've seen at UW, and seven picks on the season. The fewest since Owen 2008.
I've often argued that interceptions aren't a good indicator of the quality of DB play. This is a bad stat though, especially against the quality of QBs UW played this season. Even poor coverage guys should've stumbled into the right position once or twice on the year.

Asa had two picks early and then 2 against MSU I think.
3 in conference is not getting it done.
No way to sugarcoat how terrible the secondary was.

Asa had 2 all season and both were against KSU.
Irvin had 1 against MSU. Bright got his against Stanford. Banks intercepted ASU. Esteen got his against KSU and CU.
Also worth noting is our defense only had 25 pass breakups all season, compared to 36 by opponents. Our leader was Tuli, so not even our DBs could beat out a DT for defending passes.
I am convinced that UW's DBs couldn't position themselves farther away from receivers if they tried. There must be a stat for the space between intended receiver and nearest defender. UW would be No. 1.
