Now that I live in snow country, my driving has improved. When I get overconfident and complacent is usually when this happens

It’s not the going, it’s the stopping.

I used to be a Level III, but living in Bellevue and WFH made me soft.

    But that’s about to change.

On the way to the 91 Rose Bowl after the 90 season (Hi MIke) we went single file through the Siskiyou mountains in a heavy snow storm

Living in Spokane (and EWA) for so long, I used to be pretty good. About 20 years ago, upon returning from Mazatlan about 11 PM on Christmas Eve, I decided it would be a good idea to drive to the Tri Cities so I could see my Dad (was in a nursing home) for Christmas. On Snoqualmie pass, the car in front of me did a 360. I still don't know how I did it, but I passed him at the 180 (not willingly, mind you) and skated through. After that, I became a lot less aggressive. Now, where I live, I don't leave the house until our hill has been plowed. I experienced a 1000 ft slide a couple days after moving in, and that was it for me.

We are looking at going to Cle Elum for Christmas (Daughter and s-i-l bought a house)...It has become a sore subject, because I have never owned chains, and have never put them on a vehicle. My wife used to chain up to drive from her home, in Bellevue, to her office, also in Bellevue. When we coupled, I told her no more rear wheel drive cars (BMW)...

I don't let others drive when snow is on the ground. I do it.

Mostly you control the vehicle with gas, not the brake.

Long tim ago I had a pizza delivery job. They obligated a car topper. It started snowing in the middle of my shift and put a good 3" on the ground in about an hour. I was taking out an order and had to cut through a transit center. Started my turn and grabbed the E-Brake to "get my ass-end around quicker". I drove straight out of the turn. I guess I did it right because at that moment I looked left and a guy waiting for a bus started clapping for me.

You still need to get some snow tyres bruh.

HAHA. I'm literally walking back over to the Tire store to pick my vehicle up.

True. But there's no readily accessible stuck in the snow in the 1800s images of Siskous. C' est la vie.

You wouldn't believe the shit I drive through to go fishing in the winter. People say no fish is worth risking your life for, but those people are pussies who don't have fish in the freezer.

    Can confirm.
