The Oregon race for Gov is a prime example of Libs not actually wanting problems fixed. In Multnomah Co. the D was up over the R by 100K votes. The County with the most problems goes D because.Bendintheriver said:You make some good points. The GOP and SC did not help the cause, some bad candidates, etc. However, if you do a deeper dive, you find the real culprit: It is politics over country. Rats never cared about homelessness, the economy, inflation or the open borders.
Do any of you feel foolish? We believed that this was all about inflation, the border, homelessness, the economy. If it had been, Reps would own everything.
The independents made sure that the House went Rep. That might be the last time that happens. You can't raise 6 decades of children to hate your country and not tip the scales permanently.
NY? MI? PA? OR? WA? CA? AZ? etc. They all stayed the course and want more of the same shit. They could care less about murder, homelessness, the economy, inflation. They just voted for more of it. They created the problems and see nothing wrong with it.
The OR governor's race will be won by a screeching liberal who will simply promise more of the same shit. Hatred for police, more homelessness, more violence, more emboldened antifa. Rats simply don't care about the violence, inflation or homelessness; it is politics over country.
Stacey Abrams got a ton of votes. She hates the police, literally stalled the GA economy by accusing her fellow Georgians of being racist and chasing the MLB All Star game away and saying goodbye to several hundred million to the city and its people. Has gotten rich off of her donations, believes in open borders, and spends time in virtually every public engagement telling anyone who will listen how racist this country is. Think about that. A rat who literally hates the country and believes the majority are racist came that close to running the state. There was a time she would have had David Duke 2% type vote totals, not today. Oh, and almost half the fucking state who voted for that grifting liar? They clearly don't care about the economy, inflation, open borders or defunding the police. They only care about their politics and the power it brings to control even more of people's lives.
I love the diversity of our state but hate the fact that the people moving in are politics over country. They move to GA because it is a vibrant state that is healthy economically. Its healthy because of Republican Governors who put the state and its people first. Kemp was a leader when he opened the schools and the state up during covid. Yet, the minorities who have moved here by the millions over the past couple of decades will vote for the candidates who hate the state, will kill the economy and further fuck up Atlanta which is already high in crime and murder.
Ironically, Kemp won. There was very little cross over vote. He was put in place by Reps and Independents. He is literally the only thing standing between GA being a bigger liberal hell hole. The next election cycle we will see a black rat Governor. The Kemps of the world are dying off and all we are left with are rats who after having taken over the schools and local and state governments will finally win the trifecta and control this state to the point of ruin.
Politics over country.

This. 2000 caused Florida to clean up its elections and it has tilted further and further red since.Southerndawg said:DeSantis is a slam dunk for rational people but even he would have a very difficult time in a presidential election. The entire west coast and northeast have an impenetrable democrat machines in place. Biden and Fetterman are proof it literally doesn’t matter who they run. They can manufacture whatever vote tally they need.
Florida tightened up their election laws, which I believe contributed to DeFutures victory in areas democrats have long controlled and I mean control in every sense of the word. DeSantis is truly a slam dunk candidate but without election integrity, who knows. He did almost lose to an extremely corrupt socialist in the prior election cycle.Swaye said:
There were some great candidates. There were some duds. But, on balance, the GOP coug'ed it hard and you have to wonder why that is. I mentioned machine politics, which I think you termed corruption (we agree to some extent here). Why is Kari Lake in such a fight against that sack of turds Dem? It should not be close in this environment when almost all the issues are stacked in favor of the GOP, and yet here we are. I am not saying I have the answer, in fact I said that when I first started typing in the OP, but to not completely obliterate the Dems in this environment is a massive fail and I think a serious post-mortem of why needs to be considered here. I don't think it is all Trump, but I don't think it is all corruption or the media either. Miami-Dade county is as corrupt Dem machine politics as it gets, and Ron won it last night. Winners win. Losers complain about the refs.DerekJohnson said:First of all, there is still some LIPO involved here
Secondly, there were and are many great new candidates on the scene. From Kari Lake to Blake Masters to Tudor Dixon to Joe Kent and several others. These are high-quality people.
Thirdly, I love DeSantis but I disagree with the many on here who say Trump is not electable in '24. He most certainly is electable. We can agree to disagree.
Corruption runs rampant in America.
You mention Lake and what should be a slam dunk win for her now running mysteriously tight. What’s going on with the voting machines in Maricopa County? I agree with you regarding machine politics, but that includes some very shady elements at the very least. The democrat party is ridiculously well funded and adept at controlling elections via all possible mechanisms including narrative control via all forms of media and manufacturing votes when they need them via ballot harvesting and so on. Look no further than Biden and Fetterman for proof.
Having said all that, the best thing the GOP can do is focus on the micro political scene, continue to enlist momma bears in flipping local government seats including those on school boards, and do what they can to shore up elections. We still have a system that is far too susceptible to fraud. Beyond that, back DeFuture. He gets this and a great deal more. He’s a winner.
Don't count on that at the national level. The machine is just warming up against DeathSantis.
You think all those intelligence agencies that signed off on hunters laptop being Russian disinfo know a thing or two about election engineering? -
We can never know what the actual results were. We have machines we know cheat and mail in ballots that are sent everywhere to everyone and they pay people to drop them.Swaye said:

No one will address all the voting irregularities or do anything to stop them as the majority of election officials seem top be on the left or corrupt.
The numbers do not have to be gigantic with cheating to swing the elections.
Sad but this is where we are. -
I'm on bored but the left will do to DeSantis what they've done to every other savior in the last 40 years. If and when he runs, he will become just as toxic. At what point do you draw the line and fight like hell?

TeamMAGA has now gone through four election cycles, and it's not been great for the last three. This might surprise @RaceBannon but I abhor style over substance. And yet, perhaps because of that, I can understand that mindset a little. "No mean tweets" is a funny meme because it gets at something true and dumb. But at some point, results matter. This isn't working anymore. Objectively, it appears completely reasonable to call Trumpism as an electoral flash in the pan. A political novelty. What the wildcat was to the NFL 10 years ago. If this keeps up, MAGA will be doing exactly what it accuses the mainstream GOP of doing: Losing for profit. "We got screwed!!!! Send money."Swaye said:

Somehow that's just dandy
The reaction to Trumpism has been unlike anything ever seen. If no one wants to fight for the economy or the borders or energy or staying out of wars then have at it
That's what the left doesn't want on the ballot. The democrats can run a pedophile but tweets are the problem
I'm not buying any of that. And I never will

So "compassionate conservatism" is the solution? No offense but that gets us the establishment, bigger government and war. I hope what you and the rest of the 97 are saying is give smater Trump a try. The Bush approach isn't the answer imo.GrundleStiltzkin said:

Not sure that is what Grumble is saying but I'll let him speak for himself. I took it to mean "is there possibly a third rail somewhere between Trump and establishment turds like Cocaine Mitch." I like the Lake/DeSantis new look MAGAtards. 90% of the fight and policy, with 50% less of the drama and toxicity. What they are doing isn't working, and last nights results prove that. Look at what Youngkin did in Virginia. We need more of that. Fight the Dems but do it as a counter puncher, not as a bull in the china shop.RoadTrip said:

ATBS, everyone here is correct that a DeSantis is going to be absolutely savaged and made to look just like Trump 2.0 by the media anyway. Threat to democracy! MAGAtard! Racist! Nazi! It will be a 24X7 Ron hate train if he runs.
