State of Washington QB's

What is wrong with this state and its lack of viable QB's for the last 20+ years? From 1975-2000 the state of Washington had 16 quarterbacks that I can think of that played snaps in the NFL. Probably more that played at other colleges and played well. From 2000-2022 it has produced 3 that have thrown a pass. It hasn't even produced decent college QB's outside of those guys. Has the population not boomed the last 20 years? Isn't paying for expensive QB coaches all the rage? My god. (I had to look up where some of these dudes went to HS.)

1975-2000:
Marc Wilson- Shorecrest
Tom Flick- Interlake
Jack Thompson- Evergreen
Mark Rypien- Shorecrest
Steve Pelluer- Interlake
Hugh Millen- Roosevelt
Doug Pederson- Ferndale
Chris Chandler- Everett
Timm Rosenbach- Pullman
Cary Conklin- Eisenhower
Drew Bledsoe- Walla Walla
Billy Joe Hobert- Puyallup
Damon Huard- Puyallup
John Kitna- Lincoln
Brock Huard- Puyallup
Tui- Woodinville

2000-2022
Isaiah Stanback- Garfield
Jack Lockner- Ferndale
Kellen Moore- Prosser
Brett Rypien- Shadle Park

Such high profile duds as,
Johnny DuRocher- Spanaway Lake
Carl Bonnell- Kentlake
Marshal Lobbestael- Oak Harbor
Max Browne- Skyline
Jake Heaps- Skyline
Jacob Sirmon- Bothel
Wild Swede- Mercer Island
Sam Huard?- Kennedy

Anyone got a reason for this? Is it the lack of TUFF lumberjack liberals? Seems to mirror UW's slow decline as a football program.

And in the last 50 years Oregon has Justin Herbert and Kellen Clemens. Woe.

Bellevue’s run with the wing T probably popularized run heavy offenses for a generation.

    That’s an interesting thought.

The state — especially west of the mountains — stopped caring about high school football many years ago.

I'd add Matt Tuiasosopo, Jacob Eason and Dylan Morris to the list.

I knew I was missing some of the newer guys. They’re just so missable.

Skyline was a massive producer of overrated HS players. During their run a few years back, they sent a lot of kids to the next level. Can't think of one that was really successful.

You are correct. Even in regards to Kasen Williams, that was a mixed bag. I wonder how Kasen W would have done under a different coaching staff. Hard to say.

I think injuries are what prevented Kasen from being super successful.
