The majority of Americans support Medicare for all, free college, green new deal, raising minimum wage and a 70% top tax rate. But Democrats need to run someone who doesn’t support those things to win? Like the last democratic nominee? Not like Bernie Sanders, who happens to be the most popular politician in America.

I'm down with some form of health care for all. I don't have a philosophical issue providing basic care for all, focusing on prevention and wellness. You want Cadillac coverage, pay for it just like now.
Bring home a few more troops and scale back on military and international aid. Get shit back in order at home - rebuild infrastructure (crumbing bridges, highways, dams, etc.) and focus on providing cheap, high speed broadband for every corner of the country. Just like the interstate highway system changed the game in the 50's and 60's, the web is doing the same in the 21st century. Put big $$$ on that - both in hardware and brainware trying to make it even better.
Fuck the green shit as priority #1. The Chinese and Indians are fucking up the world 100x what the US is causing. Don't worry about things you can't control.

That being said, the vast majority want Medicare for all. I'm not sure on the other stuff, but there are millions of people that want it all.
I didn't bother to look at the laundry list of other shit because even though I am stupid I know that would bankrupt the country trying to pay for green deals, and free college and health care for all. Even soaking the rich at 70% wouldn't finance all of that shit. You'd have to raise taxes dramatically on the middle class and sort of rich as well, thereby negating most of the benefit. But hey, the really dirt poor would gets lots of free shit and keep voting for AOC. so there's that.
But apag misses the point.
The goal is to win, not change the fucking world during a campaign. Cunt.
If the country understood what it would take to make college free for everyone, nobody would want it. And it would ruin our system, which is still kinda/sorta built on a meritocracy. Believe it or not, we still have some very well functioning colleges and universities in the US. It's why foreign elites still flock here and pay top $$ to get their education.

70% ... that's a thread in and of itself. Calls into question a lot of basic and fundamental principles of what this country is about. 70% of what some guy pulls in legally is on its face offensive to me and I suspect for the average person, no matter who wealthy that guy may be. I don't believe that we're down to only 30% of people who think you are allowed to win in this life.
