Pettis put up 30 rec for 414 yards and 1 td as a sophomore.
The bigger issue is why the younger more talented guys don’t pass up the older jags. My theory is that the younger guys have to show they are SIGNIFICANTLY better for Pete to play them. If a younger guy is slightly better Pete sticks with the older more experienced guy.
Either that or the offense is too complicated, the younger guys are over rated, or a combination of things.
Both Cook and Bynum better show something next year. -

Butler was a two star WR out of Texas. Probably fought the ball with his hands coming out of high school. According to last nights broadcast, as early as the first three games of this year he was considered a bit inconsistent in relation to his size/talent.

Ngata is at least as good as Ford, and we had every advantage with him. Regardless of whether we get Ford, you can't give Lubick as A grade as a recruiter this year. He fucked up.HillsboroDuck said:

This. In my opinion the recruiting grade is equal parts process as it is result. Fact of the matter is Ngata was always our top guy, and we had too many advantage there to not feel good about it. The fact Lubick not only couldn’t get an OV from him but also let him get away in June is pathetic. Even if we end up with Ford, who we weren’t even in on until Taj Davis got him to check back in with UW in August, you can’t give him an A.NorwegianHusky said:

Not only did Lubick help the Blue Devils WR corps to a record-breaking year in 2012, he also had the Blue Devils in contention for some high-level recruits from around the country.

Ty Jones was a good recruit, but he wasn’t on Ford or Ngata’s level. His hudl is about 90% go’s with a few outs mixed in. Tons of contested catches when he wasn’t open. Not very much YAC, which is pretty rare for a high profile high school WR. Separation is not his specialty, but my god he is much faster (and better) than Lenius.
I think he’ll be good, but Browning isn’t the type of QB to profile what Jones is best at. Browning doesn’t have the arm to hit 1/2 of Jones’ 20 TD’s catches as a high school senior.
As for the 2019 recruiting class, give me Ford and I’m happy with the WR recruiting. There are rumors he doesn’t want to play with Bru and he didn’t sign early with SC for a reason. The more time away from his SC visit the better I feel. If he wants to be the guy, play for a team that develops talent and wins, play with a 5 star QB... UW is the easy choice. -
Very little to no drop off when Azeem got hurt in 2016. He was better than Bierria and Victor in 2017. He’s not out there because Pete owed him a favor. He’s good and was always good. He didn’t redshirt his freshman year and was never a liability.WeakarmCobra said:

You guys are insane. if we get a 5 star receiver in a 2 receiver class it's a fucking A, at worst. The we had "every advantage" with Ngata is just lazy bullshit as it always was. We had a lot of advantages with him. We didn't have every. He wasn't an in state recruit and he didn't grow up rooting for UW. Those are requirements for "every advantage". If we end up with just Taj I'm fine with bashing the class. If we get just Taj and Puka I'm fine with bashing the class (I wouldn't even take Puka just because I don't think we need to spend another scholarship at receiver).
If we get the best wide receiver recruit we've signed since Reggie it's a fucking A receiver class, period.
Recruiting is about who you get, not who you lose. Everyone loses recruits.
