Of course 1923 was no different. We always lose to Cal. But we crushed USC thus earning their lasting respect

And shitty non conference games didn't draw any better then than now. 6,000 a game until USC came to town. By far the biggest draw. Same as it ever was

The ancient crew hatred is as bitter as ever. Cal gave up long ago on football but they will do whatever it takes to win a boat race. -
