Asa "Mercer" Turner (the Trevor Lawrence of WC DBs), 4* 2019 S, Carlsbad (HS), CA (Committed)

There’s gonna be a December visit to South Bend isn’t there? He just went a likes a bunch of random UW fans again....
-
Look at his twitter likes now lol you know ROOF hit him up asking him if he's still solid; threw up the UW commit and liking a bunch of tweets from UW fans
-
When weird shit happens on Twitter with recruits, it always seems to matter. Makes me nervous about him.

Where there is smoke there is fire

Yeah seems like he got called out and is saving face until he decides whether he wants to flip.WeakarmCobra said:Where there is smoke there is fire

Other schools doing their job, by recruiting him. Lake better keep his commitmentUWhuskytskeet said:

Jimmy Lake just told Asa to re think if he really wants to come to UW just so he could beat Notre Dame again.
-
With both the attrition and current state of recruiting at SAM, Turner surely realizes he will be playing for Gregory instead of Lake.

It’s actually kind of funny how bad recruits are at being subtle. It makes it a lot harder to flip a kid when they immediately broadcast to the world that they’re wavering and the committed school knows that they need to hose him off.tvoie said:When weird shit happens on Twitter with recruits, it always seems to matter. Oregon State did lead for Kaleb McGary last week. Things change.bananasnblondes said:"When I said he was 100% committed on Monday, I was right. At the time, he was 100% committed. Things can change in recruiting at the drop of a hat. On Tuesday, he was no longer committed but I was right at the time when I said on Monday he was 100% committed."
-
Right on cue, Eklund offers his comments: First he ridicules those who follow kids on twitter ("some people have too much time on their hands"), then gives the almost-satirical insight that his people told him Turner is solidly committed "but could that change tomorrow? Yes."
-
Eklund has perfected the "no matter what happens I'll be right" speak. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. We may never know, or maybe we will. Hard to say, anything can happen. Would I be shocked? No or yes, or maybe. Its a crazy world, or is it?Swaye said:

Turner is being viewed by ND coaches Polian, Elston, Lea & Kelly at his game per his own HC.
He is also attending Navy vs ND in San Diego per his own HC, on his own dime.
Unofficially he has told ND his recruitment is open to them.

Turner’s sudden re-interest in ND isn’t surprising. Even though Rutherford committed there two weeks ago, he’s going to visit UW. UWs entire secondary will turn pro, including Myles Bryant from what I’m hearing. Rutherford is especially intrigued about the Marcus Peters comparison, knowing Jimmy Lakes tutelage, though brief, increased Peters’ draft stock.AF9705 said:WeakarmCobra said:

To’oto is a heavy Washington lean and with Trice already commited, ND is playing the “where do you fit ?” card to Turner. If Turner wants to play safety, UW is the right place for him. Too, Turner will be given a chance to play whatever position he wants so there’s that.
ND is a long ways away. One Turner family member won’t fly. They just won’t. Add in the weather factor. Turner initially grimaced when he tripped to UW but am told the weather wasn’t as big of a deal he just happened to come on the one cloudy day out of 6 months. Turner doesn’t like the cold and if he trips to ND he’ll have a rude awakening in the frigidity of South Bend in the winter.
Should be interesting -

There is a strong reason for that. It would take the reason to change for him to flip.
Turner was not 100% UW. He chose it for others, not himself. ND is asking him what HE wants. He is open. So currently ND is trying to get him to look at what he wants to do, not what others want him to do. -
are we going to go through this entire back and forth again?AF9705 said:

All Dawg baby. Jimmy's undefeated against Notre Dame. Mom's are undefeated. UW has the mom in their corner. Notre Dame can talk to him all they want. This one is over.

Unless Myles plays like he’s trash talking Steven Montez for the rest of his career. That was awesome but also like a week late.... -
Uh he has probably been our best DB behind Rapp and Murphy this year. And he's not much behind Murphy. You must be related to Grandpa Sankey.LaMichael_Corleone said:
