I thought it was bullshit for Repubs to withhold vote on Garland and it's bullshit now for the Dems to drag their feet on Cavanaugh. It sets such partisan precedent and it only going to get worse.GrundleStiltzkin said:And that hardball tactic itself is in response to McConnell not voting on Obama's nominee.

Although I tend to not want to hang anyone because of their academic writings - which are there to push intellectual boundaries - Bork had some weird views on privacy as I recall that made people all over the political spectrum nervous. That's a legitimate talking point I suppose.RaceBannon said:Robert Bork was stopped at the hearing as I recall. It lit the fire but unless I am mistaken it was at least to do with the law not a high school party. Even at that the GOP has gone along with every Clinton and Obama nominee like good little sheep.
Anita Hill failed and this is looking bad. Maybe a lesson there.
Everyone freaked out over Roberts because BUSH but the dude saved Obamacare
Crazy shit man
This shit is not, nor is some goofy legal theory about sitting Presidents that will never see real game action. IDGAF about any of that.
IDoGAF about privacy, state's rights vs. federalism, Roe, campaign finance, etc. Those are ripe issues for discussion and in some cases even litmus tests.
High school is too far back. Not saying anything anyone did never matters. It can. But life-ruining and profession-limiting should require something more. I'm going to say it. I grew up in a small to medium-sized town in which the adults worked and played hard. Lots and lots of drinking and hard partying. Axe @RaceBannon and @dflea about the Harbor. So it's not surprising that the kids followed suit. We would party on dark logging roads in the middle of winter if need be. Didn't matter. And at a lot of those parties, and other 'get togethers', a lot of shit happened with a lot of people.
I know I wouldn't want all mine brought up. -

The folks went on a long trip when I was in 9th grade and we had a blowout party. I accosted a girl on the stairs and she pushed me down them. A year later we started dating and were together until we were 21

Exactly as @RaceBannon and @creepycoug say it! I don't believe any of this Kavanaw shit for a hot minute, but even if it did happen, who gives a fuck? You know how many chicks saw my dick in college? Hint: A bunch. And not just the ones I fucked. Getting drunk and naked at some point during a party was sport - think Frank the Tank but skinny. You know how many girls get awkwardly groped on couches in high schools and then shove the guy off onto the floor? Hint: I hit the floor a lot in high school.RaceBannon said:

People need to get over themselves. Look, if it is ever PROVEN than Kavanagh molested someone, then hang the fucker. I hate rapists. But until then, Dems, at least find better liars because all the ones who have climbed out of the sewer so far look about as honest as a used car salesman in Detroit.
