But still, the offense is a lot less trickeration, misdirection, getting athletes in space, etc trademark Duck high-octane shit, and a lot more straight at you.

Herbert was sharp. Not just big arm, but sharp, he made a lot of great throws. Imagine what that that kid could do if he had even one of Stanford's hyphenated name big Receivers. Very little by way of bag of tricks from the Oregon offense. Have no idea what you're talking about there. I thinkall but two or three of the running plays for the entire game went straight between the tackles. There was very little RPO either. And I counted one jet sweep. And the D played pretty well, doing a pretty solid job of containing Love. That motherfucker ate you? up less than a year ago on a Very flat tire, and the husky defense is considerably better than Oregon's. Oregon's frontline couldn't stop any running attack last year.

No question that Oregon just didn't have an answer for Stanford's big receiver passing game. That, and some bad breaks, and a few mental breakdowns, is the tale of the tape.

I only watched the first half and while the scoreboard indicates that Herbert fucked up in the second half, in the 30 minutes I watched he looked like a top 10 draft pick. Duck fans better hope he pulls a Barkley and mistakenly returns for his senior year, because that team isn’t shit without him.

Stanford had a brutal defensive gameplan. You don't let Herbert sit back there with 6 seconds to throw and expect to stop him. Jesus the guy was 25/27 before OT. That's on Stanford's DC. I'm not gonna doog. Oregon looked markedly improved from the Taggert version. I hope Lake has some sort of pressure plan or Herbert will dink us to death. He won't be 25/27 but will still move the chains.

I think Stanford assumed, rationally, that they could get pressure on him without sending in extra bodies. The duck O line may be improved; or it's the doog take that Stanford is straight shit this year. We shall see. Either way, you know the rest.
