Grades were an issue. He burned a lot of bridges. He had character problems. Saw him with his shirt off and he looked soft. He's an idiot.

Hopefully this will be the last top state recruit who winds up at another school.

Can't wait until Passion blames Petersen for this.

All those guys who wanted Mora can shut up now...he couldn't get Baker either.

Hopefully Slingblade gets a nice extension for his great recruiting. There's a reason Chip recommended him. If we had been able to keep Sark here I am hearing that Baker would be a Husky.

All you idiots who wanted him gone got your wish. Hope you're happy with Big Sky recruits

Didn't Scott's recruiting blog say like last week that Baker would come down to UW versus UCLA?

UO had this one in the bag.

Kind of sarkastic - I would like to see him get an extension. If he's a good recruiter I'll be happy to give him credit. I think the Hooker and Blow Center and the overall aura and wins of Oregon is a big help as well

Biggins reported that Baker is headed to USC this weekend. His relationship with Keith Heyward is probably the biggest reason why he’s visiting, but I think in the end, this will come down to a UW/UCLA battle. For a long time, I was thinking Oregon held the pole position for him, but word is that their luster, especially from his official visit, has worn off and now it will come down to a battle between the Dawgs and Bruins. A big key will be how Baker bonds with the coaches (assuming Jimmy Lake winds up at UW, that shouldn’t be a problem) because he hasn’t spent a lot of time getting to know the BSU staff. The new staff, whoever that winds up being, will have to make up 18 months of recruiting in less than two months. That won’t be easy. One thing playing into UW’s favor in a big, big way is that his mom wants him to stay close and her health concerns (well documented) are something that will be a huge consideration. The one thing to remember is…Budda loves Butch Goncharoff and a guy that reminds a lot of people of the Bellevue head man is Petersen.
As always, Scott's sources hate him.

Listen and try and understand. First of all, Biggins said (not me) that one of Petersen's initial challenges will be to develop relationships with blue chippers (i.e., 4 and 5 star recruits) for the 2014 and 2015 class. At boise it wasn't worth his time to focus on the budda bakers, so he wisely didn't do so. I think it was an intelligent use of his time. Focus on the guys he could get, and then develop the talent.

This is an example of where Biggins was correct. Petersen has no relationship with Budda. Budda surely knows who Petersen is - as does everyone in college football. But they haven't developed the kind of personal relationship that is often required to land the top fish.

Now that Petersen is at a school with all the requirements to get top recruits, he can focus on developing those relationships.

Do I blame him for budda? No, as I think that budda has been drawn to the trash in eugene for a while. However, at some point this in-state bleeding has got to stop, and it's Petersen's job to stop it. It's pathetic.

Biggins was also the schmuck that said it was between UW and UCLA as Oregon had lost its luster to Budda....

Give Peter time, he's used to recruiting truckers. Maybe one of you guys should walk him away from the Kenworth plant in Renton and over to Moobs alma mater.

It doesn't mean he's wrong on every issue. Developing relationships is key. I'm sure Petersen and Goncharoff (sp?) will become well-acquainted.

I don't deal in hypotheticals. I stated facts and your response is pure conjecture.

Biggins was that schmuck saying such bologna regarding Budda on media sites 48 hours ago. Si, o no??

    Stick to the facts Passion.

Nope, that was Eklund. Either Biggins or Huffman was on their radio show later in the week and Eklund said something like "I've hear Oregon is losing it's luster with recruits, what;s your take on that? Is that what you;ve been hearing too?"

The response was "No, I'm definitely not seeing that"

Eugene has Kip Kinkel, the Mckenzie River and the Autzen rapist. What recruit wouldn't pass all this up? Not to mention Colt Lyerla will be hanging around for awhile longer.

    yea that was Eklund.

Biggins is pretty connected and seems to avoid putting his foot in his mouth all the time.

    unlike, F3, Kim and Eklund.
