FSU wants Taggart. Florida wanted him. Ole Miss wanted him. None of these schools want Pete. Speaks volumes as to who is generally thought of as the better coach. Not the narrative doogs want to hear.
I stopped reading after that last one, but here's the golden thread where all of these nuggets were dropped.
Taggart was the right hire at the right time. He turned the recruiting around and set it on a great trajectory, and brought in an excellent staff. He also left at the right time because it turned out his was a shitty coach. No one knew how shitty he was at the time, or there would have been no support for him. OBK was fooled, but so were Oregon and FSU, so it's not like I'm really in bad company here.
