In the Pac-10/12 there have been some stellar candidates for the back side of the Mt. Rushmore for coaches:
Paul Wulff
Dave Kragthorpe
Tom Holmoe
Tyrone Willingham -
In the "does less with moar" category, there was a guy at Florida named Charlie Pell who fits the mold. If you go through Florida's rosters over the years before Spurrier got there, you'd see a list of very familiar names from their careers in the NFL. Guysm used to line up to play there long before the handsome ol' ball coach and his one-line zingers showed up. And that mother fucker found a way to keep those teams really mediocre, and on top of all that, he was a world-class cheater to boot. Like, how big of a loser do you have to be to get caught cheating in the SEC in that era? Pell belongs on the backside of any Mt. Rushmore of college coaches. Wulff was a giant dufus, but he's a Kewg, so it's like "duh", and he was coaching Kewgs, so it's like, what did you expect?
