I'm inherently suspicious of the reliability of any sensitive electronics on a platform that engages in concussive explosions. Not sure what GPS would be good for anyway. Ballistic fingerprinting for a national database would be better use of money and effort, IMO, and not require any reliance on flimsy tech.

I've thought about using fingerprints as a trigger release. Won't solve every issue, in fact it won't solve parkland or Vegas as they were all legally purchased and used by the purchaser. But it will solve other issues. -

And yes you could fake a location. But do you think people who carry out mass murders are really that smart? I mean it would weed out 98% of them.
