Thought on guns

So my buddy and I were discussing guns yesterday. He owns a few guns for hunting and fishing and is a member of the NRA.

He suggested outfitting all guns with GPS. And I'm like, most gun owners scream about the thought of a federal registry like Australia has. They wouldn't allow GPS. He's like think about it this way. They can set up the gun to be disabled in schools and malls and stuff.

It would never happen but curious y'all's thoughts. Except sledog, who is just going to scream communism.

    Why not have both.gif?

Put the trackers in AR-15/assault weapons. Let the hunters keep their unregistered long barrels and shotguns.

That would make too goddamned much sense. So it will never happen.

The guns and religion compound is pretty well fortified but the Throbber knows that even with assault weapons, his cunning and strategery is no match for the might of the US Armed Forces. So the whole overthrow/revolution talk is just FS. Need to have some faith that the Mad Dog Mattis'es of the military would say "fuck no" if ordered to kill its own civilians in mass.

    Disagree. You don't have friends.

It's fairly easy to fake your GPS location with apps and whatnot.

Hey we agree. Holy shit. Yeah my biggest struggle with this scenario is how do we get all guns, Or in your instance, all assualt rifles, outfitted with GPS? We'd have to create some sort of incentive for people to bring guns in. We'd have to setup a system where if you are caught with a gun that doesn't have GPS, you get thrown in jail. Other than collectible guns and such.

    Hurtful.

And yes you could fake a location. But do you think people who carry out mass murders are really that smart? I mean it would weed out 98% of them.

I am against the whole 'GPS EVERY GUN". I already have a phone that Big Brother tracks me whereever I walk. I can put that down and nobody has a clue where I"m at (though I'm pretty sure the spy satellites have the guns and religion compound on perma-watch). If I want to wander while packing, I don't need some roided up, trigger happy cop tracking my coordinates and meeting me at Safeway.

I'm completely fine with concealed carry without GPS.

I'm not fine with assault weapons being untraceable. Dumb fuck parents give their angst-ridden teenagers access to their gun safe and then junior shoots up the high school.

Christ, I've got GPS trackers on my dogs. I get a text every time they wander more than 300 feet from my house. (The fucks went on a nice little two hour, 6 mile jaunt today). Do the same thing in reverse with assault weapons - send the SOS to the cops when a GPS AR-15 comes within 500 yards of a school. And then make sure your cops aren't candy ass bitches like Scot Peterson. Not that hard.

Confirmed. No matter how hard he tries, HondoFS didn't think.
