Thought on guns

He suggested outfitting all guns with GPS. And I'm like, most gun owners scream about the thought of a federal registry like Australia has. They wouldn't allow GPS. He's like think about it this way. They can set up the gun to be disabled in schools and malls and stuff.
It would never happen but curious y'all's thoughts. Except sledog, who is just going to scream communism.

Put the trackers in AR-15/assault weapons. Let the hunters keep their unregistered long barrels and shotguns.
That would make too goddamned much sense. So it will never happen.
The guns and religion compound is pretty well fortified but the Throbber knows that even with assault weapons, his cunning and strategery is no match for the might of the US Armed Forces. So the whole overthrow/revolution talk is just FS. Need to have some faith that the Mad Dog Mattis'es of the military would say "fuck no" if ordered to kill its own civilians in mass.

Hey we agree. Holy shit. Yeah my biggest struggle with this scenario is how do we get all guns, Or in your instance, all assualt rifles, outfitted with GPS? We'd have to create some sort of incentive for people to bring guns in. We'd have to setup a system where if you are caught with a gun that doesn't have GPS, you get thrown in jail. Other than collectible guns and such.PurpleThrobber said:

GPS is good for two things: making sure my bombs killed terrorists and getting me to the strip club. Nothing else.

I am against the whole 'GPS EVERY GUN". I already have a phone that Big Brother tracks me whereever I walk. I can put that down and nobody has a clue where I"m at (though I'm pretty sure the spy satellites have the guns and religion compound on perma-watch). If I want to wander while packing, I don't need some roided up, trigger happy cop tracking my coordinates and meeting me at Safeway.2001400ex said:

I'm completely fine with concealed carry without GPS.
I'm not fine with assault weapons being untraceable. Dumb fuck parents give their angst-ridden teenagers access to their gun safe and then junior shoots up the high school.
Christ, I've got GPS trackers on my dogs. I get a text every time they wander more than 300 feet from my house. (The fucks went on a nice little two hour, 6 mile jaunt today). Do the same thing in reverse with assault weapons - send the SOS to the cops when a GPS AR-15 comes within 500 yards of a school. And then make sure your cops aren't candy ass bitches like Scot Peterson. Not that hard.

Put them on printing presses, laser printers, mimeographs, etc first.

Confirmed. No matter how hard he tries, HondoFS didn't think.

I'm inherently suspicious of the reliability of any sensitive electronics on a platform that engages in concussive explosions. Not sure what GPS would be good for anyway. Ballistic fingerprinting for a national database would be better use of money and effort, IMO, and not require any reliance on flimsy tech.
-
I've thought about using fingerprints as a trigger release. If the gun didn't recognize your fingerprints, it won't fire.BearsWiin said:I'm inherently suspicious of the reliability of any sensitive electronics on a platform that engages in concussive explosions. Won't solve every issue, in fact it won't solve parkland or Vegas as they were all legally purchased and used by the purchaser. But it will solve other issues. -
It's all about gun control, The left wants them eliminated as we can not be controlled if armed.

It's always been about taking them all away. Most on the left Judy won't say it.

Then again I don't vote either.

Criminals are stupid as fuck. My buddies pickup got broken into last summer. They were smart enough to copy his credit card and leave the card there. They even knew how to use the card at Walmart without a Chip reader even tho it's a card with a chip. What they fucked up on? They used the card at a Walmart that same night and bought a $400 TV at 5 in the morning. You know, when no one else is around and there's cameras everywhere.greenblood said:

Magazine capacity control is the only realistic short term bill that could have a positive long term impact in all of this.
Yes, you could take a backpack full of 5 round magazines and keep reloading, but in close quarters that's slow boating. It doesn't stop shootings and it won't completely stop mass killings but it's a start.
GPS and trigger identity is a waste of time. The state that just suffered the last horrific event voted down any gun restrictions and voted to arm teachers. Anything other that limiting the capabilities of these weapons is a waste of time. Once the Boomers are dead these common sense issues will be resolved, but unfortunately we still have another lingering decade to munch on Member Berries. -

It's fairly easy to fake your GPS location with apps and whatnot.2001400ex said:were discussing guns yesterday. He owns a few guns for hunting and fishing and is a member of the NRA.
And yes you could fake a location. But do you think people who carry out mass murders are really that smart? I mean it would weed out 98% of them.
So yes, a trigger lock or GPS would weed out a lot of people.
I think heroine is illegal. How's that going?
