Romar taking over U of A

Damn. He gone.

Agents have been paying players at Zona for years. They probably sucked during O'Neils tenure because he put an end to it. Worked with a dude who spent a year down in Tuscon with JT. He indicated it was the open secret nobody talked about.

In some ways, this is just another nail into the Romar legacy to me.huskyhooligan said:Agents have been paying players at Zona for years. EVERYBODY knows that Arizona has been doing this for years ... and it's not like Miller was particularly good at hiding it. Yet, where does Romar immediately go after getting fired at UW? Heads to Tucson as part of one of the dirtiest programs in America.
The narrative that Romar ran a clean, above reproach program is just a giant fallacy at this point. Way too much smoke in play here. -
Title of thread could have been "Arizona gets the Death Penalty"
-
He's 100% done

Loadsock was very suspicious of the 7-1 Bahaman who signed. I barely follow college basketball outside of the Huskies at all anymore, but it makes sense now. If enough rocks are turned over, a pattern of this will be shown.huskyhooligan said:Agents have been paying players at Zona for years. It goes back to Loot, who left 11 years ago now. He will probably skate given the amount of time and possible statute of limitations, his age etc., but all the idiotic U of A fags can't spin this one. Cry me a river.

Don't blame Romar for trying keep the facade of a clean program and going "dirty" to win. I blame him for sucking at it.
There's nothing dirty about paying the top players to play for you, especially when the NCAA and schools are in it for the profit. Everybody know they ain't there for school, or even there by choice.
Fucking people acting like there is some morality or principle at stake here. There never was.
However, Miller is a fucking idiot doing a middle man's job on this. Dude deserves the stake for sheer stupidity. -
It’s basketball, who cares? It’s not real life, like football.
-
FBI don't fuck around. Except on Presidential shit.
Calipari next? Coach K?
-
-
UW called out too during Romar era, he’s fucked just like Miller. Hopefully doesn’t have too much implication on us.
-
Romar leading the charge without trier and possibly without Ayton. What could go wrong?
-
How about Romar going all-in on guys like Angelo Chol and Aaron Gordon because he believed those guys were "locks" ... and instead ... they end up at UA and fuck our recruiting for years after.
Was Romar too stupid to realize that UA was just gonna' dole out the cash and leave him hanging without any recruits ... I mean, he had to know this was what UA does, right?
Or, did Romar just get out-bid for those guys?
Either way, it truly demonstrates how fucking stupid his recruiting "strategery" was. -
so, Romar is getting a Raise and new Contract?
-
Clean house total couch sell. He gone
-
Did it ever occur to you fuck sticks that Romar was brought in to clean up the program?
-
So the FBI bumbles a school shooter, but spends millions of dollars and wastes thousands of man hours to find $100k?
Who the fuck supervises these operations? Sports are big business, like retardedly huge business and $100k was the smoking gun?
Cam Newton made more than that and it was public knowledge. Everyone reported that Miss State and another school offered him $180k and Auburn won the sweepstakes by building his dad a new church.
What a garbage agency. This is college basketball so it doesn't matter. Of course Arizona is paying players. You ever been to Tucson? Super hero black kids are dying to go to Storrs, CT and Syracuse, NY too right? They are lining up to live on Tobacco Road.
-
But the stand up, clean, and non cheating romar has found himself in a perfect position to take over a program from miller. While i would love to revel in zona's potential shittyness under his reign, I'm not excited about what it means for pac12 competition. The pac12 needs strong teams and now zona has been romaredTequilla said:

It's almost like the FBI is not an agency of 5 guys sitting around a desk and can have multiple operations going on at once.Mosster47 said:So the FBI bumbles a school shooter, but spends millions of dollars and wastes thousands of man hours to find $100k?

UA would be FS to elevate a guy whose name is associated with an active FBI investigation.DerekJohnson said:Did it ever occur to you fuck sticks that Romar was brought in to clean up the program?
So, yeah. He's probably getting the job.

Ok so their last two public ops were a massive blunder that ended up with 17 dead kids and millions in wasted resources.bananasnblondes said:

Times like these I wish I wasn’t banned from Softy’s page.
Romar likely thinks he has (and maybe does have) a degree of plausible deniability here. That said, he’s not a moron. He knows that he’s not a good enough recruiter to get a kid from the east coast who was as good as Fultz to commit here. If he did think that, he’s dumber than we thought. He’d also be arrogant.
The idea that Romar had literally no idea about the payment when information is so readily available to not only kids but especially to coach’s is naive. That said, Romar supporters have a narrative to protect with Lorenzo, much like any fervent fan base does when they have a coach of deity like status. To suggest Romar knew something would tear down the only redeeming trait he had left.
Romar knows how big time college athletics work. He knows there had to be some special circumstances which got Fultz here and his purposeful ignorance makes him just as culpable -

ill be here enjoying watching the au basketball program crumble

Sounds like Miller won't coach Arizona's game tonight.
The fates have already convened and decided that Romar will lead the Cats to victory over Oregon, Cal, and Stanford followed quickly with Zona's AD signing him to a long term contract marking the end of Arizona's basketball program as we know it.
It is written. -

good to see loro get another shot after not having enough time to get his guys in at uw. people dinnt realize that romar was in the midst of cleaning up benders mess when he got shown the door.

Black coaches only take over downtrodden programs.

It was agent money. Fultz would have gotten it no matter where he went. I doubt Romar was completely naive, but I doubt Romar was personally involved like Miller was.MelloDawg said:Times like these I wish I wasn’t banned from Softy’s page.

If you were in the industry (like Romar) you’d have known Miller was dirty - right?
Yet Romar goes and works directly for Miller?
That story doesn’t add up
