ucla

And then he hit me with a stat that surprised me...but not really. ucla has never had an 11-win season. Never.
If boise state is the poster child for doing more with less, ucla must be the exact opposite.
Maybe chipster will break the decades-long cycle. Who knows.

Win a half Natty at 9-0 and then Pop Off.

It’s going to take Chipper a couple years to get the machine rolling and I’m sure you will see a lot of turnover with kids leaving and getting kicked off. Unfortunately Chip can’t knock the soft out of all the current players like Petersen couldn’t get rid of the Sark stench on a lot here.
If Chip can’t get it done then UCLA is eternally fucked. -
I am curious to see what chip’s offense will look like. I think the college game has adjusted to his old offenseCuntWaffle said:It’s going to take Chipper a couple years to get the machine rolling and I’m sure you will see a lot of turnover with kids leaving and getting kicked off. Chip was innovative at the time but what makes him a good coach is that he is hard ass who is detail oriented.WeakarmCobra said:

As a TBS guy, watching that game brought up a lot of memories. So many names out there of guys getting run over by Kansas State players. Huys that we would have absolutely killed for and billed as "program changers".
That game was the finality of the "tough guy Mora vs. Powder Blue Pussification. PBP won awhile ago. Now it's just pissing on Mora's grave -
Not all UCLA players can be Jaelen Philips taking a cheap shot to someone’s head because their defense is getting ass raped TUFF!

If Chip can’t get it done then -
The biggest recruit Mora landed was Myles Jack. With him they were competitive. Without, soft as woman's ballz.
-
It's the campus, water, who knows. They have loaded up on top end talent for decades and never done shit. I never even want players who are seriously interested in UCLA because if they like that place they are weak soft fags.
TUFF loggers > Charmin soft faggots -
We beat UCLA for Psalm. Let that sink in.

In an interview, that Bryan Addison said the #1 thing he's looking for in a college is an "awesome social environment". Tailor-made for powder blueSwaye said:It's the campus, water, who knows. I wouldn't bet against Chip. But idk @CuntWaffle makes some good points. At Oregon Chip was already there and was installing his toughness and speed offense attack. It could take a lot of turnover at UCLA to get similar results.
But if Chip recruits to UCLA and gets them to play the league is in trouble. He lost 3 league games in 4 years at Oregon. Petersen would need to go 17-1 the next two years to match that run. -
I think something that would be interesting would be looking at a school's blue chips, and seeing what schools get the highest percentages of those guys to the draft. UCLA is loaded with blue chips, but don't produce equivalent draft picks. Schools like UW get as many or more draftees despite more blue chips. I think a cool graph would be blue chips per class on the x axis, with draftees on the y. It would show what schools develop those guys and which schools do not. UCLA would be an outlier, and not in a good way.
-
In a similare vein, for those who think the Pac has always sucked, for most of the 80's into the 90's USC and UW were 1 and 2 in number of NFL players. Like the SEC todayjhfstyle24 said:I think something that would be interesting would be looking at a school's blue chips, and seeing what schools get the highest percentages of those guys to the draft. USC had stars and hall of famers., UW put hard working blue collar guys and linemen into the league along with quarterbacks. -
Chip always has an abrasive transition. Very similar to Petersen who knows exactly what he wants, demands it, and if you can't hang GTFO.
It will be brutal in Westwood for a couple seasons, but then watch out. -
Why do you hate big fake tits, blonde hair, the beach and West Wood

One chinteresting question is how chip will do In a different culture. At oregon everyone from uncle phil, the state police, student body and the athletic department all the way down to the towel boy were singularly focused on winning. chip benefited from that.
Does ucla’s culture reflect that laser-focused unwavering determination? -
We've been hearing that Chip doesn't like black players for some tim.Passion said:One chinteresting question is how chip will do In a different culture. I don't think Chip is motivated by external shit. The media loves to hate on Chip, I think he's an all-star, but he requires buy-in to unconventional shit. UCLA can't afford to move him, so he'll get a real chance. They are All-in.Passion said:One chinteresting question is how chip will do In a different culture. But just like Petersen wasn't "the right fit" for USC, I wonder if that goes for chip at UCLA.
I'm chinterested. -
Double blow post, but I remember reading an article where Lesean Mccoy was talking about how he made the players wear sleep monitors and super Stalin like control policies.
He's cutting edge cutthroat looking for any advantage.
When you're winning, it works, but as soon as you hit a bump the implosion is accelerated.

Kids go there because it’s warm and it’s in LA they can put their small willies in blondes and they can meet movie stars on campus. Football comes last, football is their currency for acquiring everything else but it’s not what they go to UCLA to do. No star recruit ever picked UCLA to play football. That’s why they’re soft, they will always be soft, and they will always shit the bed and underperform. When a kid chooses UCLA the rest of the schools are relieved they dodged a whiney man-bitch that could have sucked their thumb on the sideline of their football games. Sometimes you don’t know who the bitches are in life until they commit to UCLA.
-
That kind of stuff also works on college kids a lot better. Not so much on grown men who need their egos stroked. Professional sports is a lot more controlling these egos than it is actual coaching.Doogles said:Double blow post, but I remember reading an article where Lesean Mccoy was talking about how he made the players wear sleep monitors and super Stalin like control policies.

UCLA is just so damn sexy compared to us. How the fuck are we supposed to compete?

Chip had Phils money, nikes jobs, facilities that are second to none, and massive coffee cups at PEugene. He also still has to deal with higher school standards than anything he dealt with at UO. On top of that, his playing philosophy was new 10 years ago. Not anymore.RaceBannon said:I wouldn't bet against Chip. But idk @CuntWaffle makes some good points. Chip will fail at UCLA. Cook it fags.
