Gladstone to your question ... the DL rotation next year would be Jaylon, Levi, Bowman, likely Bronson, perhaps Ricky McCoy makes a jump ... and yes, Benning is a wild card.
It’s not as good as this year’s DL obviously, but that’s still a very good P12 DL -

Still see a lot of that this year. Taking bad angles, coming in high, bad tackling form, taking plays off. They need to put some weight on him and try him inside. -
Benning’s biggest problem is a lack of consistency on the outside ... he’ll have a play here and there that teases you with potential and then a handful where he disappears ... probably a situation where if you can get him to be more singular in his responsibilities the better

Benning reminds me a lot of Everette Thompson: Big time talent who realized only a fraction of his potential. Neither quite developed the quickness and moves to be great on the edge; never quite developed the bulk and strength to be great inside.
In Thompson's case, I think injuries were a factor. -

Tweeners are a thing of the past, to some extent. Coaches have gotten better at using versatile players. I think Potoa'e will be a 3-tech next year. He might play on the edge some, when they use the 3 down linemen and just one stand-up OLB, but I think he'll play more and more inside.

For example, Kikaha was a 6'2" 230 pound kid with a big frame who was recruited as a DE. He was on the small side to be a DL, but didn't have the physical attributes to be a traditional LB either.
The whole BUCK position is basically designed for tweeners. -

“They wanted me to come during a game but we’re still playing”, Tremblay said of the Trojans, “They said that one of their players got hurt and so that’s why they offered now.”
