The extra assistant next year should be an OL coach, preferably a guy with NFL experience. Find an older or retired OL coach and open up the checkbook. Some Howard Mudd type fuck. Have him only recruit the top OL targets. Use the NFL experience to sway top OL recruits to UW.
We can fix the QB situation. We can fire Smith. If Malloe fucks up recruiting, can his ass. The DL has been good since this staff has been here and Boise State had a couple great DL's. Kwiatkowski knows what he's doing. I'm not sure if Pete will fire Smith and Malloe, but that's another issue.
One of Pete's best attributes is being an offense oriented coach who actually cares about defense.
Commit to being the toughest team in the PAC 12. It's a soft conference. Add a grown man, NFL QB and we can compete for titles.
